as i need to wear glasses to drive/ride etc i was just wondering if anyone else does, and do they also find it a bit of a squeeze ?

I always try to wear my sunglasses under my lid but they never seem comfortable enough to be able to wear them Sad

At least I know my lid fits properly Cool

I wear glasses. This has caused problems recently with the cold weather / fog because they fog up more easily. People on here have suggested I get contacts, and that a mask can stop it.

But I don't have a problem with fitting my glasses in my lid when riding. Though I have occasionally tried to take my helmet off with them still on which is interesting! Doh!

I wear glasses, and I used to wear them on the bike. However, I found contacts much better. They're more comfortable and if you want to look to the right at a very sharp angle with your glasses, you won't be able to see everything clearly. I hope you got what I meant Confused

some helmets have a gap to allow for glasses to be put on and off like the Shoei others are near impossible to fit ! Try a few on in a shop !

I had some nice glasses that I have managed to break by squeezing them on when wearing a helmet.

It took me a while to realise what caused them to brake, but the helmet was putting strain on the delicate arms.

Contact lenses are better when riding anyway as you get better peripheral vision.

get a cheap pair of glasses for riding purpouse that way you wouldnt have to worry about bending the frame or breaking them. Say around £20 .

Theres quite a few nice cheap pairs out there with the flexi "anti-break" frame. Just walk into specsavers with your helmet (preferably putting it on after you enter Very Happy

) and try them on. May look a bit odd, but itll be for your benefit plus youll have a helmet on, so dont worry about people taking the piss! Laughing

Or to keep it simple as most have suggested, contacts do the job very well Thumbs Up

I wear glasses all the time and tried many helmets on to find one that fitted ok as contacts is not an option for me. I did wear then a few years ago but they ended up scratching my eyes and so I was advised not to wear them so I opted for some Oakley Threads. They are titanium but look very thin. I found the only helmet bar a rather expensive shoei was the Nolan VPS classic 101. The full front lift up helmet was great for getting my glasses in and also great for wear my other Oakleys my sun glasses. The caberg were not as good and I had trouble pushing the arms down the side of my head while the agv also seemed a tight fit and seen as my glasses were in the region of £380 (more than the helmet!) I was not prepared to risk breaking them.

Try as many on as you can with your glasses you will get one that fits. I found some full face that fitted (none lift up) but these where just a pain in the ass and too fiddly to squeeze glasses through in my opinion!

AGV are good lids for glasses, there's a seam between the top padding and the cheek pad mine fit comfortably through.

My advice is to try on as many helmets as you can. I wear glasses for riding I prefer the helmets that flip up at the front as it is easier to get your glasses in! You will find one that fits the best

I wear glasses too.

I have a Shark helmet and it seems to be ok for glasses wearers.

In the cold weather a Fog City insert and a Foggy breath mask stops my visor and glasses from misting up Thumbs Up

If you are uncomfortable it may be advisable to ask your optician to show you some frames that are narrower to fit in your helmet easier (remember to take you lid along with you :up).
