ok, so thinking of going by bike to the south of spain ( where the hoiday home it) a ticket with easy jet is roughly £130 return,

so i have been thinking southhampton to bilbao a nice ride from north to south and bobs your uncle

But having looked on a few seites it seems to be that the ferry alone is gonna cost £300ish

i just always thought it would have been cheeper, might have to consider dover-calais isntead and clock up the miles instead!

what ferry websites are cheapest and is this price about average for a rtuen at about easterish time?

Hope you mean Portsmouth to Bilbao otherwise you will have a quick swim from Southampton. Shocked

Always fancied doing that route as a mini-cruise as I've heard it's good fun.

We took the OH's bike over from the Isle of Wight to Limington back in the summer and had to pay the same price as a car, once on there it was squashed into a tight corner. I feel that bikes should pay less as they only take up a fraction of the space that a vehicle does, just another rip-off Sad

When I went from Pompey to Fishbourne in early Sept with the bike the cost was £18.90 for a day return. Bit cheaper than a car I think.

In August - that accounts for the difference - cheaper from Sept 1st. Also you were 2 peeps and I was 1.
