50cc, new head, piston rings

Just replaced the barrel piston rings gaskets and all that on my 50cc speedfight as the other ones were knackered cos it wasnt pumping oil into the engine.

now it starts but, cuts out if i open the throttle too much and cuts out on tick over. at most it runs for 10secs. Loads of white smoke comes out the exhaust too, any ideas?

btw, i premixed my fuel and put it straight into the fuel tank just in case the oil pump still wasnt working.

the speed fight is automoxed, and you have pre mixed the oil and fuel which results in it being drowned in oil

well i was told it was a 50:1 mix but i wasnt sure whether the oil mixer was working so i put a rough guess in the fuel tank. I did notice the smell of the burning fuel was different as 2 stroke engines have that distinct smell. i'll try putting some more neat fuel in the tank to dilute it and hopefully it'll work

Make sure you've still got plenty of oil in the 2 stroke oil tank as well.

If its still playing up, it might be better just to drain the tank and fill up with fresh fuel Thumbs Up

gonna pop down the petrol station in 10mins and get a couple of litres just to dilute it, that should be enough to weaken the mixture. if theres an improvement on it starting then i know this is the problem.

i took the exhaust off last nite, and shook it a few times and the remaining bits of the rings fell out. i also took the silencer piece off and the cloth material inside fell to pieces, it was all hard and brittle. Is there and household substitute i can use to pack the silencer with? maybe an old cloth or loft insulation? i know loft insulation is fire retardent?
