They're water resistant. Don't you have the clear plastic bag thing that goes over it? That thing is 100% waterproof, but the water will get in underneath it and eventually get wet anything you have in the bottom of the bag as it sits on your tank

has anyone had a tankbag come off whilst moving? that one seems to have straps aswell as magnets on it but I'd like to use it to carry the laptop back and fore. Probably best to put it in something waterproof first then put that in the tank bag.

The strap goes round the headstock, they are pretty secure anyway even without this. I have hit 180mph Twisted Evil and it didn't move. They really aren't waterproof either, use the rain cover they supply.

They are not waterproof but stand upto light rain but pro-longed periods of water will get them wet and the contents inside. The rain cover looks like a plastic shopping bag but it keeps the rain out.

As Major_Grooves said, you should have got a waterproof cover to go over the top of it. Mine's not waterproof without it. As for the staying on question - I don't think you've any worry about it coming off - the magnets are so strong, and they've got a lot of surface area across the tank - there's no way that things coming off.
