Anyone else feel like this ?

Some days I can jump on my bike and ride it like I just don’t want to get off. I just want to keep riding. I feel completely relaxed and everything seems so comfortable and natural. I can bank to the left, bank to the right and take roundabouts like hairpins.

Then, on other days, I ride like a complete novice – easy does it, losing full balance and all that as I ride very slowly - and being almost scared of flipping the bike at all like I usually do I just want to get home and get off the bike

BTW: This does not apply to the weather conditions we're experiencing just lately. I'm talking about nice, dry, warm road conditions.

Anyone else experience these changes?

Or do I need to ask the Nurse for some more tablets

Yes, I do...I can normally tell when I'm going to ride like a pillock by the way I leave the drive. If I barely make it without dropping it, I'm going to make a complete twunt of myself. Usually in rush hour traffic I can feel my heart beating faster as I get closer to the main roundabout, then I might as well get off and push the bloody thing

You'll be pleased to know, today was a good day....which is OK, but it normally follows that the next day will be a bad one - not good when you're planning a ride out

Somedays I just get the bike out, jump on and away I go, no worries, do everything good and feel once I get to my destination that it was a good ride, then other days I do still get a bit nervy just on the thought of getting the bike out to the front of the house, still get funny tummy these times, I guess its cause am still a relitivaly a new rider. I think even after I lose the L plates there will be butterfly tummy times

On the odd occasion I come out of my drive and do 4 left hand turns to go round the block rather than face a right turn into a busy main road. At other times the right-hander presents no problems.

Think it might be time for a change of medication.

In the summer I rode the same 20 mile stretch of road, day after day after day. I got a stupendous level of confidence and could push the bike close to its limits of traction. I felt entirely comfortable and ready to switch bikes. Since then I've just not ridden anything major other than commuting miles, and I've felt completely unskilled and incapable, scared of leaning further and just not feeling as though I can trust the machine.

Commuting knocks the shine off fun riding for me, and I'm sure it's making my skills regress. Sometimes I just don't feel right; last time something felt really wrong was the start of a journey which ended up bouncing off the tarmac.
