Hi im 15 years old and i own a crappy lil monkey bike and repsol mini moto. When i turn 17 i am hoping to buy an NSR125 foxeye as i think they look the mutts nutts and i hear they go quick as well. I was wondering can i send off for a provisional when i am 16 and am about to turn 17 in a few weeks or would i have to wait until i was 17. Also how would i go about getting the provisional Question
Thanks

When I was 17 I had a deristricted Suzuki RG125 Gamma, it was awesome fun but that was 9 years ago. If I was 17 now and after a race rep 125, I'd get an Aprilia RS125. But when any of my mates ask me what to get - I say get a cheap 4-stroke 125 (Suzuki GS) pass my test ASAP and get a big bike.

Hi,

Yes, you need a provisional at 16 to ride a 50cc restricted moped don't you? Smile

Oh yeh - you can get a provisional at 16 - but last time I knew anything about it, there was a 2 or 3 year limit on motorcycle entitlement or something dodgy like that. I'd apply a couple of months before my 17th birthday unless I was going to get a moped.

dont really want a moped though to slow and are for chavs which i am not. I dont like chavs because they always pull out on you or throw ciggies at you because once when i was on the back of my uncles Honda dominator(pitiful bike) these guys in a nova pulled out right in front of us and uncle had to slam on brakes. I hate chavs!! No respect for motorcyclists at all.

Your on hallowed ground mate Laughing . I own an Aprilia RX50, its very *NOT* chavtacular, nor am i (fan of tallica, maiden, fear factory, arch enemy etc.) The bike is massive, my stepdad (who rides a CBR900RR) has trouble getting onto it. And the engine it uses (the ar6) is rumoured to be able to reach speeds over 50mph!

A picture of it for your viewing pleasya!

Personally i wouldn't plan so far ahead, alot can change in that time, such as money that you have etc.

That must be an absolute flying machine. Simpson with a spanny exhaust like that. If they have paid as much attention to the engine as they have to the chassis, I wouldn't be surprised if that does 70mph Thumbs Up

When I was 15 I still had the crazy idea of one day owning an original Fireblade (that dream started when I was about 13). How naive was I? Wink
