Suzuki GSR

I have to say, this looks like a tempting new toy for the spring! Very Happy

So is this going to be the replacement for the Bandit? I like it, looks a lot more up to date than the old Bandit style wise. It's about time it had a face lift.

Not sure if it'll replace the Bandit just yet. They have just updated it with a 650cc engine.

However, saying that, I cannot see them running the GSR, Bandit and SV together for too long.

Although they are all fundamentally different, to a first time rider, a choice of 3 600/650cc naked Suzuki's could be confusing.

EDIT: Or Hornet or Fazer Wink

Hi

Seems to be a far more sporty bike than the Bandit. Presume it is a detuned GSXR600 engine. More direct competition for the Fazer.

All the best

Keith

I'd think it's more competition for the hornet, I've always seen the fazer as a more old mans bike, well, not old mans but the more 'sensible' rider's bike. Very Happy

Have to say I really like it. If it's anything like the hornet, then I want one. Wink

Hi

With a beam frame sticking that far out expect loads to be written off from frame damage in minor accidents.

All the best

Did you not realize it's one of those crash bung replacement frames Keith?

No need for crash bungs, you just replace the whole frame instead. Wink

I agree with keith, it'll be like the whole buell bugger up with the frame getting damaged so easily. I like the look of the fz-6, this has the same kind of feel only with a better degree of continuity in the design (some of the fz-6's design features don't quite gel). For a first time bike, i'd definitely consider it.

I reckon it could give the hornet a run for its money, seems more of a naked hooligan bike than a tourer. The bandit never seemed sporty to me at all, a bit of an old man's bike.

Jack

I read a test in BiKE that said the new fazer was pooh compared to the ER6N and the Hornet purely because it was peaky and hard to ride.

Perhaps the GSR might be too... The Bandit is possibly a better bike from this point of view...

Looks like a cross between the ER-6n and the FZ6

The one thing I hated about the ER-6n was the front light, this bike looks much better.

like others of said, it definately seems like more of a competitor for the sports naked area, like the hornet and fazer.

I like the idea, but I had a sit on it at the NEC and I wasn't impressed. Doesn't look anything special at all, especially the rear end.

To be fair, I bet it rides better than it looks.

That's apparently what it's desended from - they missed a few of the good bits out a long the way.

Prefer it to the (new) Fazer, but would still buy a Hornet.
