Humm, i hope they don't make the speed triple more like the old one, the current model is by far the best looking, and thanks to that short tail, i've seen people wheelie past 12, and land it rubber side down.

I've never seen why the speed triple never sold more, its more than a match for the middleweight japanese nakeds, but never sells to the 'just passed' restricted market. Maybe there just aren't enough triumph dealers out there, or there's no restrictor kits.

EDIT: Just realised the triple is a litre.... Embarassed

Always thought it used the smaller daytona's engine...

Don't quote me on this but Im sure I read somewhere a new project Triumph are working on is a 6 cylinder!

I would like something made by Triumph that is along the lines of the Fazer 1000 (the old one) but with a triple pot, I guess the nearest they have is the Sprint ST but I would like a bit less fairing but not cut to the extent of the speed triple! Think that would be a good all round, do anything bike!

Are you listening Triumph? (like they care what I think) Wink

I see what you are saying, but all I was commenting on is that you wished that Triumph would make a bike similar to a Fazer, well in many respects the Speed Triple is a 'similar' bike but, as we both agree on, a better bike.

If you fancy something made by Triumph that is similar to a Fazer then the Speed Triple is the bike to go for. It would be no different over a long distance than the Fazer would. They are both based on sportsbikes essentially so the riding position is fairly similar. The Triple is a better handling bike but that doesn't make it more uncomfortable to ride and your feet are 'slightly' further back on the Triple than the Fazer but not enough to make it any less comfortable!

If you want something comfy for long distance then you really need to look for a different style of bike altogether... perhaps a (ugh) BMW or something! Laughing

Anyway, I take your point of what you are saying, but IMHO if anyone is comparing a Fazer to a Triple they would be mad to go for the Fazer unless cost is the most important factor, even then the difference is fairly minor!

I have to admit though.. if you want to take a pillion, the Fazer is the one to go for!! Wink
