Ok guys,

One of my mates at the Uni bike club has got his CBR600RR Stolen. It's a Black 600RR, 04 registration i believe and it was stolen today in Loughborough, Leicestershire so if anybody has any details on it, let ME KNOW ASAP so i can get in contact with him. Bike has micron can.

The gay thing was that my mate Iain was due to sell his CBR in order to get a car for the winter, only to find that his bike, including the chain & disklock was stolen from his garage.

anyway here's what he said

Quote:
Phone call 2 nights ago, can I come to have a look at the bike, where do you live?

I live at .....

Oh cool, me and my boyfriend will be down at 7pm to come have a look

(no one turns up)

I get paranoid and lock the bike up to everything I can find in the garage.

Went to have a look at it this afternoon... bike has gone. Bolt cutters to open the lock on the garage, bits of disk lock strewn over the floor with bits of fairing to match. A dismantled part of my flatmates bench press was left strewn about too.

Ah well, 21 days to see if it turns up. Cops are refusing to run a trace on the woman who called me to come have a look at the bike as there is no proof. Insurance should cover it all though - my rediculous excess.

So any midlanders out there or even further afield, let me know if anything turns up for peanuts on a CBR600RR which would otherwise be suspicious.

Cheers

Peace out

Titz

Whats even gayer was that the biker lot were going to do the matlock run tomorrow but looks like it's definately not on the cards for Iain.

Bike almost identical to that which Joe used to have.

Yeh Greg, it should be note to anybody selling their bikes to take extra procedures when selling. Make sure the guy leaves details on everything including their home address if needbe. It's safer to be extra cautious and vigilant.

You reckon we can lure a bait for them by say err selling a gixxer 05, yoshimura pipes, ohlins forks, say 7500? and see if a guy turns up completely at the wrong time looking shady?

Either way it's really gay now that DVLA exposes the details of bike's address to anybody for 2 quid so it'll make it obvious that NOBODY should put their Reg no on display when selling thier bikes.

Unlucky mate, such a shit thing to happen Thumbs Down

I had my RR written off earlier in the year and was thoroughly pissed off. Now I have a ZX6R with 9500 less miles on it than my RR. Take the insurance ££££ and get yourself a shiney new bike.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

Why dont we set up a BCF bike trap.

We advertise flash bikes and if people turn up to see them-we explain that it's a trick, but if someone comes to nick it-we tie them up and dump them at the police station. Cool

Just a thought Razz

Hey mate, I live in loughborough and know a lot of local bikers, I'll have a chat with the local shops, get them to keep an eye out, and I'm going on a ride-out on sunday morning, I'll pass the word around about the bike.

Whats the reg plate? I'll be doing serious travelling about soon around loughborough and the surrounding areas, and I live just north of notts, so I'll keep an eye out.

Half the bikes I see around here are Black 6RR's so I'll be of no use saying "I saw about 3 today"

Thats really shitty mate, hope it comes back to you in the same condition as before. Sad

Well had a chat to Iain today and he's just going to settle for the claim, in the hope that insurance pay out full book value. He basically said that if the insurers pay out, then the money they pay out - excess would have been slightly more than what he advertised his bike for, consequently he's not missing out on much with the exception of the huge collateral damage to his claim history should he intend to ride any bike soon (which i'm sure he would!). It's needless to say that the bike has now been broken for spares and is being advertised everywhere! So CBR600RR buyers, look out for cheap parts!

Would h8 it though as I am only on third party!! At least he can get a new bike even if his insurance will go up. Either way yr screwed when someone does that. Feel sorry for him Sad

Worst thing for him was that we met up after our ride out and he clearly felt envious that he wasn't around when we ragged it to the peak district. It was a good ride, half of it done in the dark.

Insurance is going to murder him for the next few years then
