my little suggestion
why are people allowed to join this forum and only use E&M and never give anything else to the forum, i,m not saying i contribute in major ways but this guy is just taking the piss....
https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=68426

92 posts since he joined and all for selling, and he has no sense of humor.

shouldnt certain things be stopped from happening like this, i mean if you join a bikers forum at least post something about bikes and not use it for selling all the time.

There's always the spam rating.

I don't see a problem with someone coming on here just to sell bike stuff personally.

If it's other stuff, then, taken from the rules and guidelines for posting:
Quote:
However if you have a topical product or service you are welcome to advertise it in the Exchange & Mart section or a special interests section (Supermoto, Racing, etc). Please note, however, that this is a priviledge and posting repeatedly or trying to 'hard sell' your ad may begin to draw flak from other forum users.

Now if people start throwing the spam rating around with out thinking I would probably look into some revoking, but if it's for a considered reason, I wouldn't.

Yup, I tend to agree with G.

More bike parts on the site can't be a bad thing. And if it's not bike parts, well so be it, more cheap stuff for us.

I do think it should be split up though, i.e bikes, bike parts and then anything else. Obviously thats probably not going to happen but I thikn it would make the forum run a bit smoother and there would be less of the *bumping* done by people selling bikes if it had it's own section

But i don't understand the point of somebody joining a bike forum with no intentions of joining in the forum apart from selling.
A forum like bcf is supposed to be a community isn't it? so even posting in any other part of the forum to say hello, or hi, i can help you out with that m8, anything would have shown he was here to join the community and not just a place to use like eBay. or maybe the E&M should be opened up for anybody who has had no luck selling stuff on eBay and for them to just come here and use it as such.

IMO it defeats to point of joining a forum(in this case a bike community)

What about those that join at the age of 14/15 and just partake in mindless waffling because they don't have a bike (yet). Against them?

If not, it's probably because they're contributing to a part of the forum, of course, not about bikes. Same as this guy in my eyes. Smile

Just trying to look at the bigger picture, that's all.

Don't worry though Daz, I will still always consult you before buying any pc related stuff Very Happy

Have no fear of me worrying m8 after all it isn't my forum i just join in from time to time (unlike others who just use it for alternate reason Wink )

And after all this is only for suggestions which is exactly what i did, put a suggestion forward, i didn't expect any body with any power around here to take notice of it really, as most lower pe0ns like me on here get ignored by the big gang Wink
