5 hours on this bike last night (I'm saying 5 but I really took the wrong way and went up by Newcastle instead so it was QUITE a bit longer)

2000 Firestorm
17k Miles
Twin 'I have to sell these, they are far too loud' ART Cans

Got it for £1900 from a nice chap down in Witherinsea, near Hull. Thumbs Up It's my 4th 'can you end this ebay auction, I have the money' purchase and I'm pretty damn happy with it.

I can see it lasting at least 3 weeks. No, really, it'll be a lot longer I'm sure.

I take no responsibility for those so disgusted at the purple, anodized screws that they throw up and ruin their keyboard.

Goes for the stickers too.

My head hurt after riding behind one of those with silly loud cans on for five minutes, so after five hours I really have to pity you! Laughing

Personally I prefered the TL's exhaust note though, the VTR was a bit harsh. How many tanks of fuel did it take to make the journey? Wink

Big black V-twins always look very menacing, in a sort of 'I want to rip your head of way'. Thumbs Up

I was getting roughly 45mpg back on the motorway, after doing 95 miles I'd fill up with about £7.50 of unleaded Thumbs Up That was it's best anyway.

Laughing Sell them to you for £2.99 & P&P each. Wink

Thumbs Up

In all seriousness though, I do want cans with removeable baffles. I like loud but it's too antisocial for my liking, I'm jsut asking to get tugged. And the thing is, you can't ride it quietely. Either its a deafening roar or a low down, deep grumble. Confused

Really though, the only folk that I talked to on the way back up commented on how loud it was. The said it was a nice bike. Laughing And that was just idling away. Sad

If you do get it rejetted!

I put a wolf removable baffle can on my Daytona and it knocked the power from 110bhp down to 80bhp! Shocked

Removed the baffles and the DB killer, and it went back up to 112bhp! Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Had the er5 for 7 months, hornet for about 4, sv for 1.5, ninja for 4 weeks so far (selling)

I figure no point keeping a bike you're not totally comfortable on! Especially when you sell for profit though.

Can't argue with that. Makes me think about selling the SV. Razz Thinking

CIA Insurance. The bike is garaged and alarmed but they didn't know that until I got a 2nd quote which was the same as before. Confused

Dom - Get a quote to see what it would cost to change the bike insurance Very Happy Thumbs Up I really liked the sv but it lacked just that little bit of power. The VTR makes up for that and THEN some!

Did you not mention the garage then, as there was no difference anyway?

Very nice bike, I saw a Firestorm earlier, they sound beefy. Twisted Evil

If it was as simple as me fancying an affordable roadbike I'd probably get rid of the SV tomorrow. Problem is after a blast round on Sparks' KTM the other weekend the only kind of bike I fancy would be of the dirt variety (and I do still fancy a Tuono, but I think that might be a little out of the question Neutral). But then I'd be screwed for actually going anywhere. Laughing Sadly I think the only solution is some of these: Pound Coin Pound Coin

Look forward to seeing some nice bulletcam vids of the Scottish twisties with a V-twin soundtrack though. Wink

As do I. It'll be a couple of months before that happens though. Laughing

Going to look into fitting it correctly on the bikesomewhere over the next few months, go through a trial and error stage where I can get the least amount of vibration and wind buffeting.

when you say youre on a restricted licence do you mean a 33bhp restricted one? im just wondering cos i thoguht i might be pushing the boundaries a bit with my zephyr 750, but if youve got a firestorm insured then i might have to reconsider...........(im assuming its not restricted)
