Insecure much? Wink

Just kidding...I totally agree...and it's funny when a bike is billed as "the best bike evar!11!!" when it's launched, and towards the end of the season, the opinion changes quite radically. This was especially apparent with the ZX-10R.

It is, for me anyway, but then it depends what you want from a bike. I don't need to carry anything or anyone, for me it's purely a selfish form of transport/toy.

It always happens with the old GSXR1000 too. When it arrives on the scene, a year out of sync with the others, the journo's think it's fantastic. A year later it's old hat, slow, bad brakes, etc, it's always the same. The next bike with a 2hp increase will be fantastic. Shocked

he says the tires that were supplied on the bike were shite - i dont know what sort they are but i have heard the same about the uk r1's - where the imports have good rubber on them

I agree. The Dunlop D218s on my 2004 R1 are not exactly confidence inspiring. Why Yamaha chose those for the UK is beyond me. The sooner the rear wears out, the sooner I have the tough choice of what to go for next; Pirelli, Bridgestone, Michelin, Metzler, etc.

Big Bikes are Well easy to ride, the 750 is more easy to ride than any other bike ive ridden, its when you give it some stick it becomes a handfull.

As said it more or less does, I had an indicated 95 in first and wasn't flat out.

You owe your mate a pint.

your mate, as d.freak says give or take a couple of mph is absolutely right.

i have a couple of friends with zx10's Wink

swapped bikes for bit on a ride in the summer and Embarassed Embarassed i rode it like a complete granny but the 10 is a nice bike, although i felt a bit perched on it.

the only other litre bikes i've ridden are a k4 gixxer and a k4 z1000 both also nice to ride but my fav would be the gixxer mainly due to the fact it is quite a small bike in size Thumbs Up

Did you actually ride it?? What was it like?

aye but only briefly, I rode it back doen the return road doing 50-130mph 3rd gear rollons just to watch the boost gauge climb and to make the rear tyre howl when the turbo spooled up

it was fun

much

the owner reckoned it was perfectly fine on the road and he had the kneesliders to prove it

Shocked

These litre superbikes are designed to be fast, but that doesn't mean to say that you have to ride them fast. Speeding is fine given the correct time and place, but if you excercise self control you should be ok. The bikes only gonna be as wild as YOU want it to be, because ultimately you are the one telling it what to do. I mean, it isn't exactly dangerous when it's sitting on your drive doing 0 mph, as it isn't recieving any input from the user, so to speak. The problems tend to come with familiarity of the machine, and the "just 5% more round this bend" state of mind comes into being, and it generally all ends in tears.

Someone told me they've seen 115 on the clock in first and I've had 100, just, out of the R1 in first. Either way all indicated and probably not quite actual of course.
