Do you guys never get pulled by the pigs at boxhill when doing wheelies and stuff? The NSR125.com vid boxhill.avi is a defo reason for cops to be swarming the area and booking you all.

How do you get away with it?

People do get booked. Police car normally parks up where you see the bikes turning out of to then come down doing wheelies. bikes then promply stop.

Someone said they sit down the road further and get speeders, cos its less effort i guess.

and *most* of us are watching the wheelies, and not doing them Razz

Nowt wrong with the old bill. When someone nicks your bike you aint gonna call the fucking gohst busters are ya?
They're more scared that someone's gonna hurt themselves or someone else than they are you lot having fun. There have been plenty of accidents through ppl showing off and I think if bikers can't find a meet that's not on a main road they shouldn;t be moaning about not beeing able to pull wheelies. Razz

I reckon that it's unfair to criticise the plod in general (there are specific cases though), as they're often only trying to uphold the law. It's all of the red tape, dodgy legislation, and the so-called justice system that needs flaming.

at the end of the day, they are paid to unhold the law, and if you do wheelie past them Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Admittably using an unmarked car, is a bit shitty especially when they would have managed to stop a lot more people doing wheelies and stuff by just parking a marked car up.

I agree with Tin, its the law which in general we have a problem with, and the people who uphold it are just a much easier target.

Unless you get one of that wankers who are just interested in making your life as inconvient as possible, or finding a place they can sit and do you with vascar Evil or Very Mad

Dont get me wrong i dont *hate* the police i think they have to do a shitty/difficult job and are only nicking people who are breaking laws *they* dont make up.

I would however like to say 90% of police ive encountered have been twats who are on a power trip. I am also very pissed off at how they fucked my mate up the arse - they totally took the piss with zimma - i know the court gave him the sentance but the cops report didnt do him any favours and was worded to make it sound a *lot* worse than it actully was.

Forget the first paragraph i sound like a poof! The police are cocks! Laughing

The most stupid thing seems to be the endangering teh public bit... the people that were crossing the road infront of him.... the people that were crossing the road to /watch/ wheelies were obviously aware that there were bikes wheelying Confused

Thats true. Its not like it was people out for a little walk on a sunday. They wouldnt have been crossing the road if ppl like zim were not doing wheelies

But if a group of bikers talked to the police, told them their wheelieing intentions and negotiated with them maybe we wouldn;t be scared of getting done.
The Police are generally quite amicable when you suck up to them Very Happy

hi
i can agree with the cops when people do stupid stuff in residential areas as u could quite easily endager the public, but when they start wanking u off cause u were speeding in the middle of no where really pisses me off, there are times when its safe to speed, yet its usually in these safe places that the fucking wankers stand with their speed gun, they know its safe to speed, they know that we know its safe to speed so this is where they get us, cunts. They should crack down on cunts in towns and cities knocking people over than fucking us for wanting to ride fast when we only endager ourselves, its our life shouldnt we get to decide if we want to kill ourselves

[note: im all for speed limits being rasied on motorways and some roads]

Problem is, you kill yourself, someone then has to remove your body, bike, and inform your family. Yeah it is only yourself that you kill, but its not quite that simple.

Limits should be raised where appropriate, and there should be more time and effort put into catching dangerous drivers. Look at the Autobahns in Germany, one of the lowest accident rates in Europe, and yet no speed limit.

Yet you can be doing 65 on the motorway, in thick fog, driving like a prick and thats legal, but 120 on a clear bright early morning when your the only veichle in sight and its illegal. Daft!

Residental areas, outside school, town centres and stuff is where all the Gatsos should be. Who *really* give two fucks if you do 85 on a motorway? But going past a school as kids come out is fucking dangerous if you do it too fast.

Dont even get me started on mobile phones Twisted Evil

In addition to what Ste has said...ok, you may kill yourself, but if you're out of control (you wouldn't crash if you were still in control, would you?) then there is a chance of killing someone else.

And as for Box Hill, well ok, we'll all say "I know that I'm taking a risk by watching wheelies etc.", but what if you were hit by a stray wheelie and (say) paralised? Even if you personally think "well, it's my own fault for standing there..." I'm sure that your friends/family would be angry that it happened in the first place, and why there was no-one there to stop this kind of behaviour...

Fair point about lossing control, but that does kinda come back to doing it only where safe. And you can also say that it would have killed them at 70mph as well as at 110mph.

Everyone does know the risks of the wheelies, and I agree that family would also be fucking pissed off if someone managed to crash into me while watching them. It would depend on the situation, and what happened tbh. Anyone who says they wouldnt blame the rider would be lieing, but its not like we dont know these things can go wrong Confused

On that sorta topic, does anyone know what happened to the rider of the fireblade(?) that went into the crowd last summer?

there we go again...blaming others for our own choices Rolling Eyes

IMO if you stand there and get hit by a wheelie, unless you were just walking past and just a pedestrian/motorist etc, then it's your own fuckin fault. No exceptions because you know the bloody risks involved standing by a busy road with stunts going on. Confused no wonder we're being turned into a nanny state.....
