 |
|
Over the last few weeks, I've noticed that if the bike is left for more than a few hours, when I start it up and knock it into first, it wants to move forwards a bit - even with the clutch fully in.
It doesnt shoot forwards, I can slap my feet on the floor and hold the bike back, and when it finishes utching forwards [usually about five or so seconds] I can knock it from neutral to first as much as I want and it wont budge.
I dont know if this could be a slight clutch issue or not. I guess it might just be a cold bike issue I dunno
It's only when I initially put it from first after warming the bike in neutral. The clutch is adjested roughly according to the manual [manual states 5mm play, it's got a bit less because I prefer the biting point a bit higher up]
Any ideas? The bike is a marauder 125.
Cheers

Lever goes out a bit more than half way when I pull off. It doesnt creep forward any other time than when I knock it into first gear for the first ride of the day. If it was the clutch not being adjusted properly, surely it'd creep forward EVERY time I knock it into first.
Correct?
EDIT: I'll give everything a nice lubing, change the engine oil [which should have been done a few miles ago ] and see if that fixes it. ____________________ Current Bike: nc30 |

Make sure you have enough engine oil. A few hours normally isn't long enough for clutch plates to stick together as a result of having forced the oil from between them, but it isn't impossible. You expect some drive to be transmitted with the clutch fully in anyway. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

2885 to be precise. I've sorted the oil issue anyway
Still hasnt cleared up. It's not really a problem, I just thought it was a little odd. If it shot forwards and there was no way in hell of stopping it then yes - it'd be a problem
"I'll just knock it into first coming out my drive waaa-aaaAAAYYYY! *splat*"
Cheers for the considerations.
