The only thing i got is a Disk Lock from the NEC, it seems pretty solid and could take a while to get off.

Wondering what else there is to buy that is worth having, I dont need a Ground Anchor or a Alarm system because the bike is in a garage and if a alarm went off in town or whatever people wouldn't even look and the wind could set it off.

What you lot got?

I've got an Oxford disk lock and an Oxford chain. Both pretty strong. Bike also came with a Datatool Evo3 alarm and immobilser. Can't say I like alarams but I park my bike outside my house so it's a necessary evil.

From https://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk

Which chain do YOU want protecting your bike?

Squire MC4 Chain (RiDE Best Buy) Hand Bolt cropped in approx 63 seconds by Zanx and his amazing pantz

Luma Kit Solido Duo (RiDE Recommend) Hand Bolt cropped in approx 35 seconds

Abus Granite City Black X Plus (RiDE Reccomend) Hand Bolt cropped in approx 8 Seconds

Abus Granite Extreme Hand Bolt cropped in approx 12 seconds

Oxford Monster Hand Bolt cropped by Peter Walker of M.A.G (who had never cropped a chain before) in 3 seconds

Oxford Boss Hand Bolt cropped in approx 22 seconds

Kryptonite Fahgettaboutit chain hand bolt cropped in 42 seconds

All of the above chains were also cut with the hydraulic bolt croppers at the NEC International Motorcycle & Scooter Show in between 8 - 12 seconds.

Almax chains do seem to be the best make out there Thumbs Up

I reckon alarms are more pain than gain. Get a big dog.

My bike's kept in a garage too, but it's got the steering lock on, a chain and padlock and a Motrax Vishas disc lock (RIDE Recommended). When it's parked outside anywhere during the day, I just use the steering lock and put the disc lock on.

20year old cx500, with big fookoff faring.. was stolen and left because theyre were too stupid/realised they wouldn't manage a 250kg bike.

A gs500 is no safer from pikey scum, small light bike with naff all stoping them hotwireing it.

An R1 or new goldwing for example, is very hard to secure because professional theives will get arround any secureity like it wasn't there.

Depending on where its being parked i'll use..

An alarm (solalarm, trigers from shock, power or tilt, the bike can't be moved without it going off)*

Grip lock (easy+quick to use, deterant mainly)

Chain (noname thing, no better/worse than an oxford)

Snake chain thing (came free with a mates sym scooter)

And a bike cover.

Minimum it has the alarm and griplock on, most of the time its parked in a garrage overnight, maximum it has the lot on it! very rare it gets left anywhere dodgey tough...

*No body will give a shit about the alarm, even if they can see a pikey stealing it they wont stop them, my cx got take from right outside a mates front door 3 meters away, this way i hear it and give them the kicking of their life and leave them in a ditch, on fire, with broken legs Twisted Evil
