HAd it checked out today after i was involved in an accident.

Frames bent at the back so its gona be written off. Not evan been on it for a month

Hey mo, a recent accident? you ok? wel just letting you know if it's the rear sub frame then theres no need for the bike to be written off, they bend really easily from wheelies etc....

woa! steady on, dont write it off until its been looked at by someone who knows what they are doing. Where are you from? I know a guy in the midlands who should be able to sort it for you. If he cant straighten it out it cant be done. I had two fork legs a top yoke, my brake disks and my frame done by this guy and you would never know. also it cost well under £400. If its any use p.m me and ill get you his number. Hope your ok, get back on asap.

My H frame got bent in my accident, and the insurance company still paid out (the repairs cost more than what I paid for the bike, but shhhh ) I think the rear bit of the DT would be the same sort of thing as the H frame? I know the tail on the NSR isn't connected to the main bike frame, it's a separate subframe, but don't have much any experience with crossers, really.

Definitley get an offical estimate for repairs, it could work out cheaper than it sounds. I know "bent frame" sounds nasty, but in reality if its just a subframe it could be minor!

yesterday a lady drove into the back of my dt at a round about.

took it local yamaha dealer today and it will work out to £1300 to fix.

needs a whole new frame as mine cracked aswell

'kin gutted. They might still not write it off, find out the value of the bike on the books, and the insurance company will pay approx 2/3's of the value towards repairs. My bike was worth £2100 on the dealers books, and the company paid out £1500 for repairs, as I've said, which is slightly over the 2/3s, but we stressed we didn't want it written off.

With my claim, too, the dealer noted EVERY bit of damage, including stuff that was already there, so you can probably knock a bit off the £1300 for random bits that aren't really nessecary/already there. Depends if you want to get the money back or if you'd rather have the bike.

Us DT riders are fucking unlucky, Eh? Mine was nicked 4 weeks after getting it, yours was crashed into, and i believe someone elses was also nicked not long after he got it.

DT's must have some kind of curse on them or something..
