hello i am getting an aprilia rs 50 soon and need to know if i can ride it derestricted or do i have to restrict it to 30mph or there abouts. I know you have to have it restricted in England but what about NI??

well if your 16 i think it has to be restricted to 33 mph, at 17 it dosnt really matter, my advice is use open and direct for insurance, its good for us norn iron lads and usually they dont ask for details about restriction (sortof a if you dont ask we dont tell).

Same rules as the mainland. 30mph limit (which is what a standard RS50 will do, just everyone derestricts them), give or take a little for error margins.

Only differences you have in NI is no need for a CBT and no option of DAS to avoid the 2 years restricted to 33hp.

What kickstart said, only its up to you weather or not to keep it restricted. I'm on restricted (33bhp licence) for another year, I have personally never been asked about certificates or anything even with getting producers from the feds.

its practically impossible to be caught, since the police arnt trained in bikes at all (apart from the bike ones)

the only way i can think of which u would be caught is if you have an accident and the insurance company come to inspect the bike
and if that happens, either restrict it before he gets there or make damn sure it dosent work

But aye, weak the restrictors out of your 50 mate no one ever has got done for this, ever.
