Few do the gear to ride, (though the race schools do), personally I definitely would not want to use 'hired' gear.
For leathers and helmet, one of the most important factors is the fit. If they are a poor fit they can even cause injuries as the armour moves around, could also help cause an accident if they are too tight.
I presume you have your protective equipment to help save your body from injury? If so I would use it for that.
As for the bike, providing you take it easy and get faster progressively rather than trying to imitate rossi on your first lap, you should be fine.
Remember, there are no cars coming the otherway, infact no cars at all. No white lines, everyone should be a to-some-degree similar pace, you'll be doing the same 10 or whatever corners a lot of times that day - so basically, if you take it easy to start with, you should be fine.
Expect to pay around £200 for bike hire, more if it's an odd track/time with around a £300 crash deposit. |

Skudd:- Perhaps she just thinks you are a window licker and is being nice just in case she becomes another Jill Dando.
WANTED:- Fujinon (Fuji) M42 (Screw on) lenses, let me know if you have anything. |

I've had a couple of track day spills. If you've got good equipment it's not a problem. I'm still using the same boots and leathers. The scuff marks mean everyone gives me a wide berth on the track |
