A scooter is just a style of motorcycle, as are sports, trial, trail, custom, cruiser, retro etc. - all of which may be a moped.

People easy now
Scooter are huge and I got hooked. It started from a couple small things and ended up in what you see here.
Yes, couple of grand spend on it, easily. But in a timespan of 5 years.
If it's your hobby it is and that makes it not was waste of money.
If somone is totally hooked on collecting stamps, coins or trading cards and spend tons of money on it, doesn't mean he wasted money.
Each to his own. As long as YOU enjoy it.
But don't take my bike for granted. You guys need to see some of the tuned monsters here.
A couple of years ago, there was this video of a fully tuned scooter that out-dragged an R1 up to 50 meters. Of course the Yamaha kills it on top speed (OBVIOUSLY) but the fact it outdragged it the first 50 yards is already crazy.
These scooters are FAST and I mean FAST. No shifting. Just wack the throttle and instant powerband performance, from standing to top speed.
I also run an inner rotor race ignition with mapping that advances/retards ignition. Compression is 15:1.
Riding these things is something very different as riding a bike, which I love too.
These things are just crazy fun, although highly illegal.
And some of these parts are better as what most non-super sport bikes have to offer. ____________________ www.idon-industries.com |

Look, you bored me with a list of parts! I bet that cost more than my lovely ZXR400, and mine looks nicer and goes faster, and it's ready to ride without having to put all that crap on it first. And it's on the same licence.
How much did that lot cost you then, including buying the scooter?
Also, I love the way it says "BRAKING" on the caliper, you expect it to say AP or Brembo, but it just shows it's cheapness with "BRAKING" ____________________ Present: GS650 Katana - Getting ready for summer touring!

Beat an R1 to 50 yards? I guess that's how long it takes for the Yamaha to fully release the clutch
I appreciate the effort gone into making such a project, although the base vehicle in question doesn't agree with me.
Each to their own I guess. |

I agree with that. Looks a bit dandy.
However, Braking is right up there with Brembo, AP, PVM etc.
https://www.braking.com/bk/home.asp?sel_lingua=eng
And that 4pot-specially-for-220mm-oversized-scooterdisc is a rare item, since its been out of production for years now. Best caliper that you can get for a scooter.
But again guys, this was before I was into bikes. Again, some spend 1000's on coins, stamps, trading cards, but he if it's your hobby....
But now it's mostly collecting dust. ____________________ www.idon-industries.com |
