Where can i get some of those ridiculously bright bulbs you often see on new bmw's etc? The ones with the blue-ish tint

I take it they'll plug straight into my bike? cheers

I should have been more specific

I take it they're halogen....any particular specs to look for? Rough price?

The stock is 60/55w h4 halogen, but its the shitty usual yellow type effect

If available you could go for slightly higher wattage than standard without any concerns, but otherwise the different colours are meant to be better in different conditions. I just go for plain myself.

Alternatively go for a HID kit if you really want superb headlights. For the blue tint go for the 8000k model.

I'll be getting a kit as soon as I settle on a particular bike rather than "upgrading" all the time! Laughing

The BMW's use HID lighting, you won't gat a Halogen that will touch the brightness they give out. You can get blue bulbs but you can tell they are not the real thing a mile away and they look Chavy. There are kits for bikes and they are coming down in price quite a bit now. You can get one for less than £100. The difference is amazing too well worth the money. Thumbs Up

Xenon bulbs in the same fit as your current bike, most are H4 but not all so check first!
Personally I rate Philips Vision Plus bulbs, they give a good beam pattern in my experience, not always the case with some cheaper bulbs. They also have a "dual colour" effect, yellow on dip beam (which is better in poor visability, cuts through rain, mist and fog better than blue / white) and blue on high beam, which penetrates better in clear conditions.

Halfords only do their own bulbs, well at mine anyway.

Brightest allowed are the Philips Bluevision, which I think are 4000 luminum. (As reviewed in last months ride).

I bought one for mine from my local bike shop the other day, cost £12.99 mind you. (My last bulb came from a pound shop!!)

(Not fitted it yet, probably do this weekend).
