If available you could go for slightly higher wattage than standard without any concerns, but otherwise the different colours are meant to be better in different conditions. I just go for plain myself.
Alternatively go for a HID kit if you really want superb headlights. For the blue tint go for the 8000k model.
I'll be getting a kit as soon as I settle on a particular bike rather than "upgrading" all the time!  ____________________ Shaft drives rule.  |

Halfords only do their own bulbs, well at mine anyway.
Brightest allowed are the Philips Bluevision, which I think are 4000 luminum. (As reviewed in last months ride).
I bought one for mine from my local bike shop the other day, cost £12.99 mind you. (My last bulb came from a pound shop!!)
(Not fitted it yet, probably do this weekend).
