my friends dad said i can have it for £1000 its a 600s green looks mint with 14000 miles but i have to keep at 33bhp?

£1000 is pretty damn good for that kind of mileage, what year is it?

Bandits do suffer from crap finish I understand, so do inspect areas that are likely to 'go' (the exhaust collector box and the rear caliper are firm favourites for giving up)

97 or 98, just what I thought. Decent bikes yes, a good starter 600 anyway. When did you pass your test? Tried for insurance quotes?

Just inspect the collector box on the exhaust. If it's covered by exhaust bandages, then it's done and you'd benefit from new downpipes. Or a collector box fix, which costs about £80.

got my a2 in september have 2 convictions on my lieance the lowest quote is £760 went down from £1200 as im 21 2morrow,cant wait to jump on.only been riding scooters and oof road bikes since my test?

Should be good then, just best to get it restricted to 33bhp and get used to the power. Quite quick until you get used to it.

Erm, I'd jsut leave it. Or convert it to a naked bike. Converting it to look newer will be slightly difficult and costly although I bet the newer bandits have better lights.

i just stuck 1 of them uber bright bulbs in mine :0) worked a treat and very bright now.. paid 11 quid for 2 from ebay... silverstar`s or sumthin there called... came top in a big test in a mag .. even better than the phillips ones everyone raves about.. and alot cheaper too

bandit wont out power ,out brake or out handle any of the current crop of sport 600's(head down arse in the air)
however they are a nice stable bike with a nice reliable motor.
the suspension is a bit soggy(ok a lot soggy).
and the best things about the bandit are that you can drop then without it costing a fortune,you can keep them on the road for pennies and once you learn to ride,
you can zip past and out corner the 1000 mile per year/new sport bike brigade and spoil their day.
ok when you park up nobody is going to whack off over a bandit,but is that a bad thing?
i personally dont park my bike to "be seen" i park after i finished riding and then go for beer and food(sometimes food and beer)
if you are new to bikes(as i am)then a cheap bandit is a great idea.
in a years time you will want to swap for something else,but thats normal.

i got the a2 33bhp that should be ok for another year @9 months,the only reason i got the bike is that it is mint 14000 miles for £1000 it will do for now till i get a few more no claims and its restricted
