I was riding home on my restricted 50cc ludix blaster earlier this evening, and when opening the throttle to pull away at farborough gate junction, the sound suddenly got violently loud and throaty, then, the bike died, the revs almost cut right out, there was a loud click, then then (i had completely closed the throttle at this point) it rusumed an almost silent tickover. i turned off the engine, and started it again, it started instantly, and ticked, again, quietly, i tried opening the throttle a bit, and the revs dipped and dived, and no power. i got off the bike. and burnt one, whilst deciding what to do. i decided finally to have one more try at the bike, started again perfectly, this time, all seemed normal, i climbed on, and pulled away cautiously, no problems, just a very faint scraping sound. then, completely normal, not the slightest thing out of place, until i got back here, it is now sitting outside. this has totally bemused me as i know the engine had not overheated (it is liquid cooled, still restricted, i do not thrash the nuts off it, and i had only been on the bike about 20 minutes, it was fully warm, but no way overheating), if anyone of you knows what has happened please tell me loL this is confusing the life out of me. i dont want to go out there in the morning, warm up the bike, then pull away only to blow it up.
cheerz ppl

How cold was it yesterday, as it sounds like fuel starvation to me, down to carb icing maybe? |

sounds to me like its been run without 2 poke oil for a bit,
Id check it out properly, take the thing appart ,
red ex makes engines burn hotter, and you shouldnt need them in 2 strokes, THERES NO VALVES
imo that is bad,,, deffo rip it appart and check it, any minor thing like needing new rings can be sorted out,,
if your too lazy to do this, just ride it, pretty soon itll go bang and you will need an entire top end
EDIT:
after reading through again it sounds like its a possability that a ring has snapped, caught in the side, and caused the probs you have said,
worked its way loose and is now having a quiet life in your expansion chamber waiting for the rest of the piston to come join it,
the reason why it seams to be running ok is becasue its not grabbing any more,,
is it more smokey than usual or low on power? ____________________ There is no point in ranting about someone stupid because there is nothing u can do about it. There is no cure for stupid.
Someone stupid does not realise they r stupid.stupidity is indistinguishable from malice U just have to accept that some people are thick as p1gsh1t and work around them. |
