Hi Folks
I’m new here so this is my first post.

I’ve just bought an 1999 ER5 with the restrictor washers in the intake. These are to be removed for full power.
My question is. Has anyone any info as to the jetting and needles. Do they have to be changed?
I bought a Haynes manual and have done web searches but so far no mention of the subject.
The GPZ has different internal bits, needles and jets so maybe I'll need to swap to the same.
Any info gratefully received.

Regards

Hi

Nope, the jetting and needles do not need to be changed. Restriction via the washers technique is exactly that - Just washers. 2 of them on the er-5. Just remove them and you have your ~49bhp to play with. Much more fun.

If you need an instruction 'manual' as how to take them out of the er5, let me know. I made one up so people who don't want to spend £150 on restriction can follow my manual and DIY it.

HI
<<Nope, the jetting and needles do not need to be changed<<< Thanks for the prompt reply and info. Ten to eleven and I've only just comeout of the garage. I've got the bike in bits.
Briefly I bought a T reg write off and pulled the carbs as a matter of course to check the condition.
