Erm, OK, I'm being dim, probably incredibly dim. But...

I bought my bike brand new (well, it was pre-reg'd but zero miles).

I know that its up for Tax at the end of the month, which also means my insurance is due too, that's come around quick! Rolling Eyes

What I'm unsure of is. When will I need to start having it MOT'd?

Date of first registration was 23/02/04, which means it'll have been on the DVLA's books for two years this feb.

I can't recall if brand new cars/bikes get three years before MOT, or two.

Is anyone able to tell me?

Adam

Hi

3 years old and they need an MOT, so 3 years from 23/2/04 is a little over a years time.

All the best

Keith

Thanks Keith

I thought you would know! I had in my head that it was three year, but had visions of me going to tax it and them asking for a valid MOT certificate... Shocked Confused Shifty Whistle

Means I just have to remember this time next year. Neutral Laughing

When you get your form to renew the tax in the post it tells you that you need your Insurance cert and a valid MOT.

Except that the MOT will be at a slightly different time of the year to the Tax...

But I should be ok, I tend to remember with the car! Laughing
