Arrow What do you ride in day to day?

Is this because you find them more comfortable?
Better weather protection?
Feel they offer better crash protection?
or is it because its all you have? Wink

I have both a full set of textiles and 2 peice leathers. I have a set of boots to match now aswell Laughing But anyway,

I find the textiles feel a lot more comfortable to me... and also that they offer me more wind / rain protection that my leathers. I also feel more confident about sliding down the road in them, more abrasion protection i think, but the leathers would be a softer landing when i hit the deck Wink

Anyway, Textiles - 2 Peice, Comfortable and i think they look a bit cooler (Being a bit of a baggy jean skater guy) Wink

My textile trousers are warmer than the leathers but my leather jacket is warmer than my textile one.

Haven't worn my textile one since the scooter though, it's bright yellow Embarassed

I've got one and two piece leathers as well as two piece textiles.

Want to get an easy-on one piece textile jacket.

Use textiles for A to B riding as they are warmer and more weather proof.

I liked my one piece lethers bought on ebay for £35, they were unscratched and black and yellow, recently sold for £62!

Thumbs Up excellent wind protection
Thumbs Up warm when out on bike
Thumbs Up looks like you know how to ride a bike if wearing race gear

Thumbs Down tight on the love spuds when reaching above head
Thumbs Down struggle to get into
Thumbs Down contsnatly making sure that they are not falling down if zip open and arms out

Sensible combination is padded leather jeans and textile jacket.
Maybe just me but I do find leather jackets harder to get a good fit and feel heavy on the shoulders worn all day - but textile trousers seem bulky and clumsy to me, like walking about in waterproofs all day.
I can wear a close fitting leather jacket or thick jumper under the textile jacket if I want, plus it's got more handy inside pockets designed to keep stuff safe such as a mobile phone pocket near enough to head that I might actually hear it.

Textiles for everyday riding. Leather for posing.

I think it would probably be the other way round - textiles may offer a slightly softer "landing" (though that dubious benefit will of course depend on the armour fitted, and how well the clothing fits) but a good leather suit should give more abrasion resistance* than textiles do.

You don't often see racers wearing winter gear on the racetrack, do you? Question Wink

*assuming some sort of equality of comparison between the two garments Confused

Depends where I am going and the weather conditions.

Have 3 jackets, 2 back protectors, 3 pairs of boots, 2 pairs of trousers, 3 pairs of gloves and 3 lids.

I was in leathers for my first 3 years of biking, until I bought my Alpinestars Dyno jacket. The textiles felt so much lighter and more flexible, but gave the same weather protection with a slight compromise in crash protection (untested so far). I used to use Dad's Shoei jacket for winter (is one of those longish types, coming down to my knee) - so much more comfortable, more waterproof and warmer than my leathers (even with a waterproof oversuit on).

Thinking of getting another Alpinestars jacket once I'm back on the road - the white textile is a right witch to keep clean so I'll be getting a black one instead.

2-pc leathers while the weather is nice, I think they protect better.

2-pc textile over winter, just for warmth etc.

Thumbs Up

I like to mix and match. I wear Dainese armoured textile trousers with Richa leather jacket. I have got some leather trousers but don't feel comfortable in them. If the weather is colder, I wear an armoured textile jacket.

if its cold and raining then its textile all the way.
if its just cold then its leather trowsers and a textile jacket for comfort and warmth.
if its warm like summer then its leather top and bottom.
i used to wear jeans in the nice weather untill following a friend last autumn he did a middle of the road gritty dust lowside and went down the road on his arse he got up with some scuffed leather and a banged up bike,i decided that denim wouldnt have taken the slide quite as well.i have not ridden in just jeans since then

i've got 2 piece frank thomas winter textiles which are warm and waterproof.

i also have dianese 2 piece leathers which i much prefer to wear out of the 2, the leathers 'fit me' and i can move around alot eaiser in them than the textiles which of course will not mould to me.

basically the weather has to be really bad for me to wear the textiles

Both - for different occasions.

I have two piece leathers for the summer months, and have recently invested in textile trousers and a jacket for when it's freeeeezing or raining.

Kind of a mix.

Everyday riding I use a textile jacket and leather trousers.

If I'm off to play silly-buggers, I'll put my 1-piece leathers on.
