I'm trying to see if anyone is interested in doing the London to Brighton cycle ride on the 18th of June 2006. It's all for The British Heart Foundation so a good cause. The ride start's at Clapham common and ends on Madeira drive in Brighton, around 58 miles. It's a fairly relaxed ride apparently so anyone can do it.

Entry's are being taken now so if your interested sign up now.

So, are we going to enter as a team?

Think this would definitely be a call for 'BCF Racing' - thought they'll probably then think we're all pro competitive cyclists from the British Cycling Federation . |

I saw this last year in Brighton. Myself, Joe, and Monksreadus almost keeled over in 30+ degree heat in the ensuing traffic jam.

Had to use a short stretch of the course myself to avoid blowing the radiator, bastard cyclists |

Erm, just like to point out 'BCF Racing' is the /motorbike/ racing name which I use.

Seeing that I need a motorised form of transport to get me around a mile long track ten times, I'm not the fittest of people, so not actually going to intend to be doing this competitively! |

I have a Giant FCR2 hybrid road bike. It has thin wheels, no suspension etc but it does have straight bars. Do you think I will be alright on this? I've never done that sort of distance on it before. ____________________ My bike |

A Giant FCR2 will be perfect Illusion. It's a road-ride and fairly gentle. I'll be on a Ridgeback Genesis, a road bike with flat bars, just like yours.

@byke95. If you check the link in my first post it has info on busses going from Brighton to Clapham common in the morning, they are free I beleive but I assume places will be limited. I will be asking a few people, pretty sure none will actually do it.

@UKRobT309. Pubs and stalls along the way for stops apparently. The WI set up cake stalls which I shall be frequenting. Can meet up at the start if you like, we shall arrange it closer to the actual event though.

As G said entry's need to be sent off ASAP, spaces go quick.

Anyone else interested? Sammyboy, Sparks you both cycle dont you?

EDIT: Another thought is of shirt's. Are we having BCF team t-shirts or just wearing whatever. ____________________ Pictorgraphicalfantastical |
