my cousin passed it 6 months ago but hasn't made the full effort to get on the road until now. so when he went to find his cbt he couldnt find so me and him went down the training center to see if we could get a copy and the have gone bust and don't exist anymore.

Anyone else had this happen to them before, we rung the insurance company and they reckon that the DVLA may/should have a copy of it on their systems somewhere, but the lady didnt sound at all confident about it. it's too late to call them now so wont know for sure until tomorrow.

Does anyone know for sure what you gotta do? any help will be appreciated.

DVLA will be able to confirm that the CBT was completed, and should be able to issue a replacement.

bollox, DVLA has taken his details down and said that they'll get back to him within 2 weeks to tell him whether or not if they have a record or not. if they don't he will have retake the CBT. That's £110 for fucksake

Bit expensive that mate, i only paid about £70 to retake mine earlier this year. Try shopping arround a bit you'll be able to get it cheaper than that.

Well excuse us for trying to help! Shocked
The two week delay wasn't mentioned before - perhaps I should have consulted my crystal ball before trying to help you out?? Wink

I've never lost anything that is really important like that. All my documents are in a plastic wallet in my safe. Thumbs Up

You are blaming the DVLA that they can't get another cert, it wasn't them who lost it....

OMG, i haven't blamed the DVLA for anything! what you deem important is less important to someone else my cousin did his cbt because was gonna ride a ped for cost reasons until his parents stepped in and bought him a car.

I may be complaining but thats another matter if he was riding around with the presumption that he was totally liegal. got pulled by the police and given a producer then couldnt find his cbt. it would be pretty unfair if he got fined with points for not being legal when he was, wouldnt it? considering its not his fault his training center had gone bankrupt and closed down.

Maybe thats something learners should consider in future when they only intend to stay on L plates.
