I was looking at a bike on ebay that I thought looked pretty good. That was till I saw this...

Quote:
Please note that this bike presently has finance but this will be settled within 14 days of sale of bike and there will be a letter from the finance company to confirm new owner

I thought after reading that, I would give it a miss. Would anyone buy a bike if the owner openly admitted that the finance wouldn't be cleared when you handed over your cash?

Not unless I was paying off the finance company myself.

I took it from the way it was worded that HE would be paying it off.

I think people worry too much about outstanding finance. Yes, it could present a big problem as technically its probably not theirs to sell, however, you could be walking away from a fantastic bike and a very good deal.

You would have to be 100% sure that finance is going to get paid. 100%. Personally, I wouldn't trust somebody on ebay or someone I didn't know. Only do it with a friend, relation or someone who has a big secret Laughing
