Hi guys,

I am getting some rush on my bike, it looks like only surface rust but the problem areas are:

The 'grippy' part on my rear brake lever
The wheels
The rear right shock
The exhaust (Where the end joins onto the bike)

Can anyone recommend a product I can coat all teh metal on my bike with to protect it? (It's kept outside) Would vaseline do?

I can't afford Scottoiler F365.

I use f365, used less than a 1lt in a year. I spray the bike after every rince during the winter. Not expencive if you look at how long it lasts!

Errrr it's only £7 off their website...... how much of a skint flint are you if you place a measly 7 pounds over your bike's looks Shocked

It lasts quite a while as you only need to spray on a thin coat over a wide area. The only thing you need to know about it is that it contains salt inhibitors that actually react with the salt and so stop corrosion. It also won't burn onto the hot parts like WD40 which leaves brown marks.

WD40 is useless as a corrosion protector as it won't do anything to salt. vaseline will take ages to apply and be very messy. Both will be a pain come wash time as neither will dissolve in water. FS365 does and takes most of the dirt with it to.
