What do you use your bike for?

I've heard plenty of mates getting them for their cars (not Tom Toms, GPS in general) only that they use their car for commuting the same trip everyday, with the odd shopping run at the weekend.

On a bike, with pleasure riding I guess it could make sense - but I like going out biking places that I haven't planned much in advance - just going out to see where a road goes. For any definate one off trips (which are rare with my bike use), haven't had any problems with a flick through route finder and a rough map drawn up.

Use it all the time for my job. I work in the service industry and could be working anywhere in the UK, so I think they are the dogs. Thumbs Up

I have a Garmin Quest on my Gixxer. There is nothing better than just riding wherever I fancy for a few hours and then letting the GPS get me home.

It is also useful for group rideouts so we do not have to stop to check the route.

I took my QUEST back as i thought it was pants!

Display was tiny, didn't have a clue where i was, very poor map layout etc.

Just bought a NAVMAN ic520, brilliant bit of kit too, though its not waterproof, on my new bike it will be tucked away from the elements + i can get a waterproof case.

I use a rider (testing atm) but normally have tomtom on my nokia n70 and use the headphones. Would not really use a paper map anymore.
