 |
|
As the title suggests, im thinking of adding an temprature gauge to my bike. When i was looking around the web earlyier i noticed the Aprilia RS has a temprature gauge. However, despite using the exact same engine and cooling system as my RX50, i dont have one. So i was wondering how these gauges fitted (where) and what temprature did they monitor? (Coolant temprature, or engine temp?). May not be able to be done, but if it can, im determined to do it. Thanks guys!
*Edit : Woops! Never meant to say oil! ____________________ Will work for petrol

Oil temp...

I think you mean engine temperature, and it is probably possible but very very very hard. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

if its the same engine then just get hold of a manual for the bike in question and see where it goes and how its fitted, then transfer it over to yours, might require a little bodging but hey when you do something yaself it always does ____________________ zxr's and cbr's

Right ive had a look around the manual for the AR6 engine (which both the RS and RX use) And it DOES mention a thermostat, but i think this is just part of the cooling system which opens and closes according to the temprature around it? Oh yeah and ive also learned that its possible to fit an electric start aswell! I feel a project coming on ____________________ Will work for petrol
