So what security does everyone use on their bike, have you ever had a bike stolen?

Oh yea and ..what size disc lock do you need for an NSR? (I haven't got my bike yet but I'm looking into buying security).

I have a heavy chain and lock, I always use the steering lock and both bikes are alarmed/imobilised. Not had a bike knicked yet Shocked

Not forgetting that we have one of those heafty 'T' shaped bar locks at the bottom of the garage door for when all the bikes are in the garage.

You cant be to careful - unfortunatly.

I don't use any security...stupid you may think it is, but there are a couple things that I'll bring to your attention Razz

1st, who the feck wants to nick a Cityfly? Laughing

2nd, The Island is a very safe place and the bike isn't going far without me knowing e.g someone tries to get it shipped to england, there's only one way of doing it and through one company, by then i would of got in touch with the boys in blue Smile

1. Apparntly 125s are most nicked for joy riding... ie pikey kids are sensible enough to realise they would probably kill them selves if they nicked a big sports bike.

But yea... living on asmallish island has gotta help (though I'm sure they could get it back in a van etc, but as you say... no one's going to go to that hassle for a cityfly.

Yeah, that was the great advantage when I lived on Skye and it was still a ferry service (pre-bridge)... the ferry blokes basically knew all the local cars and the one time we lent ours to someone who was visiting to drive to the mainland, he got stopped at the ferry and we actually got a phonecall asking if the mini had been stolen.

Never even used to lock the car (or the house for that matter) but that was a slight problem when we got to Glasgow, went to lock the car and found that the mechanism had seized solid from not being used in 7 years Very Happy

And on topic... alarm, immobilier, D lock, disc lock and a cover. Cable round the lampost whenever some asshole doesn't park right in front of it. I think cover's one of the most important bits TBH... if when wandering by they can't see that you've got something sexy under there, they're less likely to bother coming back.
