Fairings

After having confirmation from barry_mc21 i'll be picking up a track project fzr400 on the weekend. I want to get started asap and have it ready for summer. My question is how easy is it to fit different fairings to a bike. Obviously i will have to bodge alot. I can get just about everything i need to get the bike up and running really cheaply off ebay but wouldn't mind some different fairings like zxr400 or something. Is there anyway it can be done? I dont want to buy £200 fairings and find they wont go on at all. Laughing

Why bother spending £200 on a fairing you have too bodge, when you can buy race fairing for a FZR400RR and make it look good anyway?

I'm putting R6 race bodywork on the FZR4 I'm keeping mate, have a look when you come over. Although I've not fixed it on yet, just sort of rested it in place to see how I'm going to secure it.

The fzr fairing is too box like for my taste. R6 fairings sound wicked. Cool

Defo have to have a look at that. Smile

Only thing i could see a problem with is fitting properly under the header pipes and not looking really silly by having huge fairings on a small bike.

A new set of fairings on ebay just went for £150. Could try and get some scuffed one and repair them for even cheaper. Thumbs Up

I got my R6 race fairing off a company in Germany, £123 delivered to UK. Just need to find an R1 or R6 race seat unit.

That project is awesome!! I've been a little worried about fitting a single seat unit to the MZ, but I think that's given me a bit of confidence.

any 250/600/400 cc fairings will fit comfortably on the fzr. you have to drill holes in them when you buy them anyway no matter what, filling old holes is a peice of piss anyway.
