Thanks again for the info, when did this new warranty law come out then?

This place is primarily a breakers yard but they do sell bikes obviously.

Forgive my ignorance but a collector is a box shape part of the exhaust? Also am I just looking for rust under it?

Been around for a few years. Basically to start the bike has to be fit for the purpose so if I buy an NTV and tell the shop I will courier it for the next year it should be fit for the purpose. The other part is that if you find a defect with the bike, I think its upto 9 months after purchase that you can prove was there when you bought it its the shop responsibility to sort it.

Never a good place to buy to be honest.

Yes. Crap from the rear wheel gets thrown onto the collector and it holes at the rear bottom.

Well I bought it in the end for £1075 including a full service, the usual plus new fork seals and switchgear.
I'm picking it up on Wednesday subject to a successful test ride.
I got £750 for my Thundercat, which is roughly what other places quoted me.

Thanks again for all those who posted with advice, in particular sickpup who has been very helpful. Thumbs Up Karma

Danny,

If you haven't picked it up yet, bare this in mind:

I went to see it as well a few weeks ago (have since got something different) and he offered it me for £1000 - no need to pay more than that.

There are some mechanical bits that will probably be sorted in teh service and no doubt you have spotted, but just to compare notes:

The headlight / switch is fucked

the front brake is binding (I couldn't spin the front wheel when it was on the centre stand.

He said he would give it me with a new battery

The switchgear is ropey and he said he'd sort that too.

Hope all well - overall it is proabably ok as things like wheels are in really good condition. It looked neglected rather than trashed.

Best,

Luke

Thanks for that Gracie Jones, unfortunately I've already paid a £50 deposit Doh!
But I'll try and get him to throw in a tank cover to make up for it.

Maurice, about a month or so after my last trackday 2nd gear went on it.
It costs about £300 just in parts to fix that and it needs lots of other stuff doing soonish.
I bought it for £2400 so I've lost £1650 in nearly two years. Crying or Very sad But I've sold previous bikes for good money so it's all Karma .

I went to test ride the bike today and pick it up (if it passed the test ride).

The bike felt horrible on the test ride, the C.G. was way too high and I didn't like it at all.
Luckily they gave me back my deposit when I told them I didn't like it at all.

Back to square one. Sad
