Looking at trading up from my old NTV650 to something newer with a bit more oomph, but still happy to do the town and country commute every day.

Triumph Speed Fours seem bloody cheap on Bike Trader / eBay at the moment, does anyone know of any faults or problems with them (apart from the midrange Wink )?

Thanks in advance

Alfie

Not a lot, from what I've heard. I looked into them a few months back. I'd even go as far as saying I'd buy one over a Hornet. It's literally a down-geared TT600 (you don't loose a lot of top end) - even has ram air. Less midrange than a Hornet, but a fair delivery (much better than the new Fazer), plus its chasis and brakes are straight off the TT, which is reputed to be a very good handling bike.

Plus it's rarer than the other middleweights, and I don't mind the bug eye headlamps. Looks good in black, especially with a bellypan - crying out for polished rims as well.

Like Craig said, there's nothing really wrong with them. The main problem is that thy were overpriced when new so just didn't sell. Handling/brakes are pure sportsbike, while the engine is certainly plenty for an unfaired bike.

Go for it.

Triumph are doing a free kit offer with the new ones, free alarm (Datatool System 3), bellypan, hugger and rad cowls. Bargain.
