Good riding tips

What riding skill you recommend to help stay alive and rubber side up?
Here's one to start,
When your behind a vehicle and want to know if the drivers seen you, look in their rear view and door mirrors, if you can see them, they can see you. But don't take it for granted that they have!

There's plenty.

Like when a car is parked at the side of the road is indicating to move out into the road, don't whizz straight past it, slow down and stay centered behind it. Hopefully that way they'll see you and pull away without taking you out in the process.

Brake early and gently in poor weather, and minimise lean into corners. Hopefully you'll keep slides to a minimum

If the car in front of you is indicating to turn but hasn't started braking, don't block the view of the indicator from vehicles behind you.

Forward planning and observation are key. Focusing past the vehicle directly in front of you will help you see what it is going to react to and so you'll get more warning.

When traffic lights change from red-amber to green do your lifesaver check as the vehicle directly in front starts to move and not as the lights change. That way you pretty much make a two secong gap to the vehicle in front straight away and therefore don't have to slow down to establish the gap.

1. Never ride Tired, caught me out once
2. Never ride faster than you can think, caught me out twice on the track.
3. If your gona filter set a speed you will not filter above and stick to it. Say 30mph. caught me out once.
4. Warm your tires before you push anything. caught once
5. watchout for drains/manhole covers/white lines in the wet. Never fell but had some moments.
6. Be smooth with the throttle and steering in all weathers, go on the track in the wet. Taught me loads and i love the wet now, Dont like wet and cold though, lol

Always be thinking a few cars ahead. But keep a close eye on the ones nearest. Dont trust anyone, especially women!

1) car parks in winter are death traps, watch out for black ice even if the weather is quite warm (caught me out)

2) look at the driver in the car behind you just as traffic lights go green, this makes the car driver behind more likely to create a bigger gap between you and himself.

3) Pull away from the lights when they turn green, don't go at amber (Unless its flashing amber, then you should be checking for pedestrians before moving)

4) Eye contact is everything, if you're unsure what someone at a junction is going to do, plan evasive action and plan for the worst, chances are if they have eye contact with you, they won't pull out.
