I Wanna' ride it again

Just started both my bikes up again - just to keep them exercised as I normally do.

But, everytime I do this (about once a fortnight) I always want to ride them again, even though the weather's shit and my medical condition doesn't allow me to do it!

Just have to restrain myself.

I get that alot, especially with all the work that's going into my winter project. I'm itching to get it out and test it (I too, start it every week to keep it running okay). I know that 5 miles on salted roads would take hours to sort again; especially after looking at the state of the KL. Just not worth it. Good things come to those who wait (I guess), going to be one hell of a ride come March time.

How about an easy going, comfortable winter hack?

I sat on the bike and wanted to ride it SO badly. Laughing

I'm finally replacing the anodised brake lines. Smile

My Grandad, 70+, and still cycles everywhere.

My next door neighbour, 90+ up the shops every morning 7 on the dot.

As long as it isnt going to be unecessarily dangerous to you, as in lack of bike control, or cause you serious illness problems then just do it. Eat fresh fish and take cod liver oil for the joints. Sitting on a chair in front of a monitor will do them no good, get them moving, even if it's just a short walk it will get you warm being wrapped up alot due to body heat.

You can wait and wait and wait or just do. What happens if you keep on waiting then your told you can't ride your bike again.......

my grandad had his hip replaced last year and he says it was the best money he's ever spent (from his life savings). I feel for you mate I remember seeing how my grandad use to struggle with few things but after the operation he's got soo much life in him now.

My grandad is in his early 60's if you wanna know.

Why the hell dont you just ride it then?

I have no quarms what so ever about riding my bike in winter, I even took it up to the top of Hartside the other week in 10 meter visibiltiy and massive fog.

Just have to clean it afterwards. Whats the problem with that?

Put sufficient clothes on and you wont feel the cold that much, and its very rewarding to ride long distances in the winter too.

got two bloody bikes sitting by my house I wake up each moning with the good intention of going out for a ride but the bloody cold weather puts me off and more recently an operation I had nearly 3 years ago is giving me grief so I feel too much in pain too get on my bike. To put it bluntly - It's a piss off Evil or Very Mad

still maybe if I hadnt of had such a bad time in hospital I might not been riding bikes, I only passed my test last year on a bike. One of those things in my top ten wish list haha.
