so cant moan too much .. Laughing

got it from e-bay dealer , but i brought it direct from him .
see picture below ..not bad for £575 and at a close look ,it has a good quality finish , if the chinese ever make 600 cc sport bikes ,then the japs will be in trouble ,,

The one with the gold USD's is £995 as that's the upgraded model Rolling Eyes

Just means you get the gold USD's and front and rear disk brakes.

The standard model comes with telescopic front forks and rear drum brake and that's £795

only trouble is .
is that it will kill the second hand value of bikes, as why would you pay top whack for second hand , when you can buy a new one for much the same price .
i paid £1800 for my Kymco in year 2000 ,and its still a nice bike
, but could i ask for £500 for it ,,i dont think so with this cruiser coming in at £575 brand new ,,
i always thought a good order 125 with a years mot would always be worth £500 ,,but not now ,, Embarassed

I've been told that most chinese bikes are excelent appart from...

Build quality.. not badly made but badly put together in some cases

But more often piss poor electrics.. personally if i'd got one i'd go through all the connectors and solder all of them, even japanese crimped on ones aren't great, or have a small can of wd40 handy Wink

What are the quality and reliability like on these Chinese copies?

Do they randomly make some components different and thus introduce design faults, or are they actually faithful lower-cost replications of the originals?

I've got that bike, 10k kms down the line. Finish is perhaps adequate, the chrome being a bit flimsy in some places and a fork getting pitted last winter. Frame paint seems to be fairly good, though it will flake off at the back end of the swingarm. Chain wear is pretty horrible, mine needs replacing now. I got about 8000 km from the rear tyre and could have another 5-10k km from the front. Brake pads will need replacing in a few thousand klicks, but would be better sooner.

You've not got the twin spots on the front, which is a good thing (they blew bulbs and vibrated themselves to pieces in next to no time), though it will doubtless be more vibey as a result (mine is now that I have removed them. The engine is pretty much bombproof. Mine ran on a few hundred ml of oil for quite some considerable distance before it nipped up. Even after that, it didn't lose much if any power. An oil change and it was fine.

The biggest problem with them is the electrics, partly due to the vibes. Bulbs blow aplenty, the tachometer went around the clock and the needle fell off, the speedometer waves around in the breeze despite having had a new cable. The rear indicators are fixed on very pathetically and the right rear is constantly falling off and hanging from its wire. I had a long running ignition problem which was due to a crimped connection on the CDI becoming loose. The crimped connectors on the horn also came loose, but then so did those on the real CG of my Mum's. Also on hers, a soldered connection inside an indicator went, and the rear indicators needed replacing - all vibey little bikes will tend to have electrical problems.

It is virtually crashproof, just don't hit anything other than the ground. Of all of my numerous low speed offs, only one has actually required me to repair the machine. Even then, all the problems were solved with a couple of pairs of mole grips, a lump hammer and a size 12 boot.

For that price you can't really go wrong, just be capable of fixing little niggly things like electrics and keep on top of the cleaning.

RE:the forks

Get some gaiters NOW! They aren't too pricey and will save any worrying about the forks, cover them in grease, put them over and they will stay in top condition for years and years
