The php scripts live on a shared hosting machine which is being battered quite heavily. I don't think I've ever seen the load average drop below 3 and it's almost always using 100% of available ram.

The database has now been evicted from the sql server pool because it kept fucking up replication. The ISP gave it it's own little machine to live on, which it's quite happy on - problem is the SQL box is on a dodgy segment of their network and connections to the machine running the php side of things are laggy.

Pretty soon, when "cheese" is ready, things should improve.

Around 30 sites, mostly php sites driven by databases.

Cheese is the machine which is going to take over most hosting duties for 'the empire' - It's a dedicated server I'm renting. It needs a bit more work on it before it's ready though.

Im dissapointed with that, nintey bloody four :-)hehe

I agree with the number 1 had to be a Duke Smile I do think that number 2 slot belongs to the SP-2 followed closley by the Busa then either the R1 or Gixer1000 id also throw a zx12 in there aswell oh and you cant forget the RSV. I know peoples opinions are going to be different but those are generally the bikes that should be up there. I'd like to know how they choose their list, what makes number 1 better than number three for example. I like how you commented on the results though Luke Laughing

Oh and Kornel intends on taking over the world Stephen Smile

Eventually I want to turn the porn empire into a proper business so I'm working towards that (extremely slowly though). Moving some things to another ISP is just a way to save some money and put a bit of redundancy in place.

From a company called Rackshack, It's a 2Ghz Pentium 4 machine with a Gigabyte of ram - cost is roughly £250 per month and you get a 10Mbps link all to yourself.

Stephen wrote:

Completely unmanaged, hence the price. No support is offered for the machines either, only the network. All in all, pretty sweet deal.

Rackshack are good in general from what ive heard as long as you know what your doing with the server and managing it remotly Smile

Is the porn empire as such not already a buisness? I thought it was basically hosting reselling?

not sure how its all rated but if its for looks the yes the ducati, if its for handleing then maby the ducati as well but if its for power comfort reliability cost and other things like that which really matter in the real world why is a ducati even on the list
