... one you shouldn't have fallen in love with?

Mine is a Suzuki GN250. Been riding a scooter for 2 years, passed A2 in July, and I have just bought my first geared bike... I will have to defend this choice many times I'm sure, but it hasn't taken me into debt and will be a good learner, I think, and a good winter bike for when I get myself the balls for an SV 650.

Anyone else loved a naff bike???

For me the only bike i've ever come close to falling in love with was my old TZR125. I got it when I was 17 and thought that I was the absolute b*ll*cks on it.

Whenever I smell burned 2 stroke oil I always think of it. It brings back so many warm memories of summer nights with my mates, riding like we had been granted eternal life. I think of getting home at five in the morning, clutch and brakes stinking cos I'd given it so much abuse.
I remeber getting into a fight over it when someone called it a 50. Actually was the last fight I had.
The more I think about it the more I want it back... F*ck it if anyones got a TZR registration F898NBA I want it back. I'll give you whatever you want for it.

My VFR750. I was lucky the bloke i bought it off was selling it for a decent price, because i didnt haggle and would have literally given him anything he wanted for it.

But i have wanted one since i was about 16 (now 25), and i still think its the best looking bike on the planet (Ducati 916 and NR750 excluded.....possibly).

Duh - cover version you (young) numpty! Original (and better) version done by the Buzzcocks more years ago than I want to think about....... Laughing

Fell in love with my bike at first sit (no that isn't a typo!) too. I always thought I'd end up on a virago cos of the height thing, then I met my current bike at a rally , couldn't believe how "right" it felt for me!

Gets better though, cos I now know it has bigger siblings! Cool

I loved my first big bike. My ER5. I trashed it about the place, but it always ran. Never broke down on me, not even after binning it at 50mph. Picked her up, quick dust down and away I went!
