Youve pretty much listed all the popular 125's there...

Question is, what do you want from your 125?

If its reliabilty, then a 4 stroke is preferable. (CBR125 for example)
4 stroke 125's generally do about 70mph, cant be de-restricted nor made to go faster without spending ££££.

Speed would probably be the RS125 or the Mito, bout 2 stroke bee in tin can things. Will hit 90-95mph de-restricted (Though this wont be legal with only a CBT) or 70ish mph restricted.

Fuck knows about off road, im sure another member will know. Thumbs Up

afaik the mito has a slightly harder edge to it than the RS, but there is verry little in it, you'll pick up and RS cheaper too.

I'd say buy an RS. Thumbs Up

(did you know half the bikes you posted aren't road legal?)

When i had an rs125 i found it to be a great bike, loved owning one and i didnt have any reliability problems, only general maintenence stuff.
If your are buying a 125 it mite be worth considering buying second hand, but check service history etc well Thumbs Up

I know its not listed but get an NSR definetly. More reliable than an RS/Mito but more poke than any of the rest.

Does it have to be a 125cc? I'd suggest you do a 4 day intensive course (like DAS, but for an A2 licence) and get your test done. Then get a 250/400/600 instead (but please don't post the options as the list will be huge)!

The mito is very very small, i've just bought a planet today, which has higher bars, but still feels small. Sounds very very nice, and feels solid though.

I agree but i'm biased as i own one, they are a good bike haven't had any problems with mine and with the 2t bikes theres the option of derestriction. Razz

did you find the cbr to be skinny and weightless, i prefered the NSR as it has some weight on it, its wide, looks like a big bike, and is reliable

Do a search for 'which 125' and read the previous discussions, it may be useful.

I suppose its one of five catagories (not counting scoots Rolling Eyes ) that your gonna choose:

1. 2T 'Race replica', aprillia rs125, honda nsr125 etc- 2strokes with fairings
2. 4T 'Race replica', honda cbr125, sachs xtc125 etc - 4strokes with fairings
3. 2T/4T crosser or supermoto (dirt bikes)
4. 4T CG replica or cheap japanese version, cruisers
5. 2T old rusty non sporty bike with a 100cc engine

Most choose a supermoto or a 2T race replica.
The four stroke race replicas are quite new (compared to the 2 strokes) so generally cost more and dont go as fast.

If you want to stay legal and buy a restricted bike they will almost be as fast as each other though.

Id say find an old 2stroke race replica or go buy a supermoto as they are nice and big and dont break that much if you fall off or drop it.

They will also go fast if you want to.

An old Honda NSR125 or a good condition RS125 is probably your best bet, or a TDR125 (yamaha) or DT125 (also yamaha) for supermoto/crosser. Of course ir depends on how much you have to spend.

Basically:

The Derbi GPR125s were out last year (I think) so will still cost thousands.

Cagiva mitos are expensive to repair and difficult to get parts for but good looking and fast.

Honda CBR125s are small and look like a 50cc.

Sachs XTC (4stroke) look good but are apparently difficult to get parts for, the 2 stroke version uses a refined version of the TZR125 engine

Any RS125 that dont cost the earth will probably have something very wrong with it, as I have found when looking at many.
