 |
|
Heya guys,
I ride a Peugeot XR6, its basicly like the RS 50 except different body work.
I was doing about 45mph on a 40mph road and failed to notice a police car following me
I only noticed it when the blue lights started flashing and the blip of the sioron went on, I pulled over in a safe place hopeing they where just trying to get pass, but they stopped behind me
This was the first time I ever got pulled over so I was a bit worried as I dont have a job at the moment and cant afford to get fines...
They asked me a few questions about the bike and then told me why I was stopped, My rear tail light bulb had blow out, my brake light was still working lough. I couldnt belive it as I always thought I'd notice somthing like that as soon as it went out, not sure if it just decided to go as the police car started following me and with my recent run of luck, thats probably what happend..
They checked over my bike, They didnt really no nothing about bikes and said I had a racing can on it, which it isnt, they then said about how they had to drive right up my arse to see the number plate ( I got one of them small ones ) and they said its "ridiculously hard" to read my number plate and my L plate, they also commented on not having an L plate on the front.
Once there check was over they told me how stupid it was to ride with no rear tail light, espcially on a motorbike, I agreed with them but said I honestly did not know about it.
All in all, they where very nice as they could of fined me for alot of stuff, but they let me off with a warning. Not sure if it was just because they got another call because they quickly left with blue lights in the other direction.
Just wondered if any of you can rember being pulled over on a bike for the first time and what was it about? and how "nice" was the coppers that pulled you over. |

Ive been pulled about 4 times in the past year that ive had my full liscence.
The first time they had apparently been following me the whole way down my road, and that i was doing more than 30 in a 30 zone.
This was in the middle of those horrific thunderstorms we had a little while back... i was just trying to get home asap, g/f on back, roads empty, lighting flashing here there and everywhere, just wanted to get home. The idiot copper put his lights on and made me stop just was we got to the crest of the main bridge leading into town... over the river nene....
He got out and told me to take my helmet off.. "But its raining realy hard" i replied with, "Take your helmt off PLEASE SIR" he followed. So i did. He then proceded to moan on about how i was doing more than the limit, and dangerous conditions etc... all the time i was thinking "Im cold, im wet, theres lightning... let me go home now please". He continued to ask crap about the bike, and me owning it, and do all my lights work etc... at this point i, and my g/f were realy getting arsed off, then the man above us helped me out
BANG! a huuuuuge lightning bolt flies down and hits the river litterally 20meters from the bridge, the copper jumped out of his skin, as did i. Then a second hit on the other side, i looked at the guy, dead in the eye... "Take care mate, its very dangerous out tonight" he replied, before retreating back to the safety of his car.
Always remember that one lol
After that ive been pulled because he thought i had stolen the bike? 2 up, in full kit and luggage, doing speed limits all the way, but i had stolen it? Work that one out.
He then proceded to say "What year is this bike mate"...
"Its a 94 model"
"94 model? On that plate?"
"Yes... 1994 - M Plate"
"Hmmm ok hang on *rings up office on his walkie talkie*......., are your tyres ok mate?"
I found it hard not to snigger at that one lol

I can't honestly remember the first time I got pulled over, but I can honestly say I have never had anything but good dealings with the Police. They have always been fair and I have always been suitably apologetic ____________________ I spend all my money on bikes and beer, the rest I simply waste! |

Not been pulled over yet, but I did have one 'make progress' with the blue flashers on through a queue of traffic to sit behind me for the next few miles. I was just going along minding my own business on the A46, one of the straightest roads around, being the top end of the Fosse Way. I got to a roundabout and the car overtook me and went away. Most odd. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

got pulled over by the police about 3 nights ago, they were looking for a robber so not my problem, the policeman who checked my licence and all was very sound, had a cg himself and was more intrested in seeing what was diffrent in the new model than anything else! had a good wee chat, very sound chap!
when i first got my bike i was stoped on new years night by a police man who said i was doin 80mph, on a cg125 uphill thats a bit unlikely so just laughed and told him id be complaining to his bosses, the other copper was still in the car and just sat and laughed, he realised he had screwed up so told me to get away on,
the normal police over here are usually sound blokes who let you away with a bit more, the traffic branch are usually blood sucking pigs who would book their own granny. ____________________ CB400sf version s, d&d race can and a few other odds and ends! |

Holy hell Method that sounds amazing with the lightning!
Never been pulled, but I'm just waiting for it in my car, as my licence is away at the moment. I thought I would have been earlier doing about 70 in a 60 on a country road, but they either didn't notice the speed or didn't care. They didn't have a radar gun, just parked, anyway, so not worried. |

This isnt exactly a pulled story but it was funny at the time. I'm a doorman and I was working one night with one of my mates. We had both taken the bikes to work as we often do when a couple of policemen wandered round the corner doing licensing check. At this point my mate started to get a bit worried as he has an XJR1300 with Akrapovic cans. Definitely not road legal. One of the policemen walks up to the bikes has a good look at mine then gets to my mates. He turned round and said " Those arent road legal are they?" My mate replies " Err no officer" at which point the policeman says " but they sound bloody great dont they because I ve got them on my XJR." What a legend. |

Got pulled over the other day, first thing he said was "you're not in no trouble mate we are just checking the bike hasn't been stolen",
He got a thumb's up from me
Good to see that some Police Officer's actually care . ____________________ gixxer thou K6 , Cbr400 gullarm x 2 , cb400 superhack. |

I’ve been pulled over more times than I remember.
The first time was when I had my Suzuki ts50 I was pulled over going around the Cheltenham circuit with 2 mates (on mopeds).
The cops are out in force on Sunday nights as it is the cruising night for boy racers, the police do very well for fines etc on this night, being 16 wearing jeans and hoodies, showing L plates they pulled all of us over. I hadn’t been pulled before.
He noticed I had a tinted visor and told me to take my lid off, he ripped the visor out and threw it on the path (it was raining) he said it was highly illegal and dangerous. At this point I was slightly intimidated so just stayed quiet, they made some other point and jotted down some information, gave an on the spot fine to one lad for no L’s and then let us go on our way.
I did a 2 ½ inch wheelie off the lights on that TS50 once, was pulled by a copper just after, he was on his way back to the station, he said if he was traffic cop he could have given me a fine and 9 points!
Loads of others but I don’t want to get moaned at. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

I got pulled after riding 200 feet on my first ever bike. 9PM at night, nervous as hell. I'd only ridden 1 day during my cbt a week earlier.
What a sight I was, trying to remove my crash helmet, with my thick gloves on and the chin strap still done up.
They wanted to see my paper work, of course. Me with nothing but a insurance cover note and a slip of paper off the bottom of the V5 document.
And why me you ask?.... I forgot to switch the headlight on. ____________________ When riding fast, think fast. When riding slow.. speed up.

I have been pulled over 4 times.
First time on my gsxr400, how i got away with loads, rear light didnt work, indicators hanging off with no bulbs, bike didnt start (dead alternator/rectifier) illegal exhaust/visor/numberplate basically it was a traffic cops field day but he let me off. He didn't find out about the brake light as he was trying to press the front brake lever and cup his hand around the light to see a reflection. He was a short fella.
Could have used the back brake but i didn't want to tell him that.
Pulled over on my zx6r no hassle, and twice in my car because of my numberplate, i said twice it was a present and i will get it changed. |

I was pulled twice on myTZR, but not since i've had my NSR. First time, really nice bloke - told me off for having those flashing valvecaps (thought they looked good at the time ). Second time - two women, not that i'm sexist or anything but they must have been on a power trip. 3 points and a £60 fine for no L plates. |
