 |
|
Hi guys,
Just wondering what everyone's most iconic motorcycle of all time is
Doesn't matter whether it's old or new
For me it has to be the Benelli TNT Cafe Racer... Just an amazing looking bike, a work of art.
Which bike in your eyes totally defines motorcycling? Please post pictures and state your reasons why
Thanks,
Toby |

I agree, it shares a styling similar to the FZR's I think, another gorgeous bike, the olden day hooligans bike
Gotta also love the slabby gsxr's if you like those bikes though to be honest |

Vincent Black Shadow/Lightning, years ahead of it's time, took over 30 years for any other manufacturer to catch up, full of innovative features.

rather obvious choices here I think....
RD350 : the choice of hooligans
Ducati 918 : the choice of flash gits with too much money
Honda NR750 : the choice of techofreaks with bottomless wallets
Triumph Speed Triple : Brought "streetfighter" to the mainstream
BMW R1150/1200GS : the choice of the longdistance, rally wannabe
Honda VFR750/800 : ultra reliable long distance, hyperdrive sofa
Any of the MZ 2strokes : the 2CV/VW beetle of the bike world, Cheap, capable transport for the masses.
and of course, the Honda C90

Love it or hate it, for me it's the Suzuki Hayabusa. It's known inside and outside of the bike crowd for being incredibly quick, even if that was only when it was delimited and for a certain range of years.
At 16 and watching a bike vid of one of these things bombing it down the highway and trashing a Dodge Viper, I suddenly realised I wanted to learn to ride. Would rather have a GSX-1000 now though

Iconic wise I would have to go with one of two already mentioned. The Vincent Black Shadow is simply awesome any way you look at it. The CB750 showed people the way motorcycles could/should be. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. Agree with the TNT being a work of art.
Always had a bit of a thing for this one.....

Apart from the obvious choices i.e RC30 and the Ducati 916 I struggle to see how modern day sports bikes are 'iconic'
For me it would be
Vincent Black Shadow
BSA Goldstar
Kawasaki Z1 (already mentioned above, nice pics btw mate!)
1939 Norton 500cc (The model Che Guevara rode!)
BMW GS R1150 (After what Mcgregor and Boreman did with them)
