 |
|
I've been thinking about how to improve my body position while cornering recently which is, quite frankly, crap.
I remembered about a post over on www.cbr-forum.org.uk that I'd seen a while back by a chap called Gman.
It's a really helpful bit of writing and is really clear because of the photos showing what he has written about.
With Spring around the corner and the trackday season starting soon I thought this might help anyone in the same boat as me.
So a big to Gman.

So if doing a left you have most of your weight on your right foot? ____________________ Enjoy Life There's Plenty of Time to be Dead

Hmm, will have to try that. Seems a bit counter productive though, leaning off left and putting weight on right. Not disputing it just don't get it. ____________________ Enjoy Life There's Plenty of Time to be Dead

Dont remember anything about feet and peg positioning on DAS or CBT.....just get comfortable?
Can get left foot by having heel of Sidi boots on peg and toe under gear selector thingy. But the right foot wont fit under the brake pedal, so just sits hovering above it (never know whether Im actually pressing the brake on ) and it does nt feel as I have much control on this side?
When travelling and unlikely to need brake or gear change, will rest toes on both pegs, comfy, but again no real control or ability to grip body or tank in this position? ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

Was thinking of getting some Stomp Grips
https://www.sounddistribution.co.uk/images/stompgrip.jpg
"Stomp Grip makes gripping your tank incredibly easy, and requires less energy to hold on to the bike. Stomp Grip Provides better bike control and helps you lock onto the bike when cornering or hard braking.
Stomp Grip is made of a pliable elastomer material molded into shape with traction knoblies that provide functional, non-abrasive grip. In addition the material is ultra-clear so it doesn't cover up graphics and sponsor stickers.
The product is applied with the strongest 3-M peel-and-stick adhesive available. It comes packaged in pre-molded kits for each bike model or in a universal kit for custom cutting." |
