Hi i am going to look at a F1 zx6r and was wondering if anybody could give any tips on what to look out for? What are they like compared to 600s of the same era? I have seen this one for £1450 is this about right for one with average miles. Also if anybody had any info on them e.g BHP etc as i cant find any.

ok i suppose nouthing particularly special, but shouldnt be too bad, look out for the oil coolers tho, they take a hammering and are expensive to replace when they rot out.

i would take a shot at 70-80 bhp?

Honestly they had ironed a few more kinks out by the G1 stage, which is 1998 I think. I do know that the F series is not as good as the G, which is to be expected. Don't over pay for it. I might take that for £1200 or so? Confused

The F models are not that good the G models are nearly as cheap yet much better bikes.

Nothing too wrong with the F models but I'd go for a G model if you could, just as cheap and nice bikes. I've had 2.

Even then, the F models ain't cack, just looking dated now. Probably about 90bhp at the wheel but still a few nice examples about.
