I went once last summer, its a 140 mile round trip for me though so I don't think I could make it a regular.

Certainly one of the bigger meets I have been to though and will be going again in a few months time.

the police were HEAVY last year so it may have killed it a bit this year, but I would estimate around 500 bikes and 10 police.

I'll probably make the trip down once. Maybe.

If I can be arsed.

There wernt too many police! The one day there was two cctv vans on the road upto the belfry, and blokes pulling wheelies on the road leading to tamworth! Laughing

I think that Keith and Annabella have been to Bassets Pole a few times, and im sure some of us will go up there in the summer. I only managed to go there once this year, late Aug i think, and its about 36-38mile for me, but i nearly always seem to get lost on the way lol! its well packed in the summer, but to be fair the only time i went up this year, i dont remember seeing any Police there, just the odd patrol car, or the roads that lead to it. There were far more Police at the Wheel, and also the Waterman meets though!
If possible we will have to arrange for some of us Midlands geezers to meet up there sometime this summer, and if anyone wants to take a trip down south to the Ace Cafe, this year i might be up for that 2, though i think the Midlands meets are best lol!

Hi

Been to Bassets a few times. Only went once this year as I just haven't really wanted to take the Bimota over their in its scratched state.

All the best

Careful Dodd... it's a long long way from Telford, make sure you have someone to follow, a map and lots of mobile phones to ring when you're lost! Laughing

Sorry.

Last Summer it wasn't great because of the crack down by the police, every week in the local paper they took to patting themselves on the back at how many bikers they'd caught riding dangerously etc.

He needs to take the scenic route to make sure he passes enough petrol stations on the way. That is why he gets lost now.

All the best

I will be going there again once the weather gets better. I went there almost religiously last summer as it's so close.

Well, myself any vfr 800 (AKA Daddy) only live about a 5 min trip from bassets, so ill be up there pretty much every week in the summer, and my dad might make a few visits when he gets time from work, he is working in london at the moment so he would probs go to the Ace Cafe.

and ill try to convince the ped bois i know to not come and only bring my m8's on geared bikes Thumbs Up Laughing

Went quite a few times last summer and will probably head down there this year as well, bit of a boring ride for me to get there though so not one I look forward to riding to, so it's all down to who is going.

Might go this year or might not. It's down the road from me and so it's a bit of an anti climax, I'd rather be riding when I have the chance not watching.
