My rev counter on my K1 bandit has stoped working. When you turn the ignition on the rev inicater goes to the top and back down (as it should) but nothing when the engine is on. Any ideas?

Also would a rear hugger off a 2000 bandit fit my 2001 bandit? I know thats about when they changed the model over?

All depends about the hugger, the 600s changed to Gen 2 in 2000 (1200s changed 2001), might be a late registered 99 Gen 1, you'll just have to ask which one it is to make sure as I think may be different mounting holes for the chainguards between 1 and 2.
According to the manual there are no checks you can do to the Tacho on Gen 2 Bandits. But you know part of it is OK as you're getting the check sweep so it is a matter of tracing the cables/connectors to look for a poor connection/break.
There are 4 wires coming from the tacho, the main one you should be looking at is the black/yellow one, that carries the signal from the Ignition Control Unit.
