Following on from my "Most iconic bike of all time" thread.

There was some disagreement as to whether 'iconic' status applies to modern motorcycles; so in order to create the distinction between 'iconic' and 'desirable' motorcycle I am creating another thread Smile

(I am guilty of posting a desirable bike too Smile )

So go on, if money was no object, what bike would you get?

I'd stick with the Benelli TNT.

Toby

Ducati 999R

When I'm in the showroom, no other bike creates as much heart-flutter as that one.

Can't explain it, in 2D it does little for me, but when I actually get near 1 in the flesh, I come over all unnecessary.

Lovely.

I did think of that first, and it's probably a better bike, but the stealth look the Senna has going on is just too much for me. Shocked Plus I think I'm more a fan of the Senna's back wheel than the Tamburini.

Not that I'd say no, or don't find it desirable, but I think the Tamburini is too much - too much bling??

The Senna is more to my tastes; slightly subdued (for an MV), classy, elegant.

Haven't we had enough of these thread yet?

Fine, I'll start posting threads about how I've got my girlfriend pregnant, or advice on electric toothbrushes... Etc

God forbid I try to start a bike discussion.

No offence intended Toby, just there seems to be an awful lot of very similar threads cropping up, each having very similar results.

Doh sorry, stress happened.

I created a thread originally about iconic bikes... And it looked like it was going into 2 subjects, "Truly" icon bikes such as the Vincents, C90's etc... And desirable bikes such as the 999R, so i thought I'd create a seperate thread to split the two topics.

Problem is, it's very hard to categorise a new 'desirable' bike as they are generally all in the realms of affordability for a lot of people. Not like a half million pound supercar! So once you have left school and are earning a decent wage, most people have their ideal 'dream' bike anyway!

Personally I recon you have to look at classic bikes from the past that are not really available anymore that people remember, take the Fizzy for example, classic bike will always be remembered!!
