I am picking up the new Z750 on Saturday and looking at security.

I am thinking of self install alarm or imobiliser, Not interested in the all singing all dancing units, its a peace of mind thing rather than an insurance requirement. My premium is on £134 and the discount from the insurance is only £8 for datatool 3 so thats not a consideration either. Have to insure the bike for over 35years to recoup the cost.

Question is, should I go for just an alarm, or just an imobiliser?

Hi

Murpheys law, the immobilisor will do exactly that when it is not meant to. I would stick with just the alarm. Pro thieves who will be equiped to deal with the alarm will probably not be riding it away anyway.

All the best

Keith

just buy a cheaper alarm wont save on insurance but it will be alot more cheaper to buy. I had a meta sysyem imobiliser and had alot of problems with it, it had a touch senser so you had to hold the fob on the sensor pad and hold back brake down and get the bike started in 30secs!

The cheetah alarm i got of ebay for 30 quid was much better and loud!
