American Choppers on discovery last night..

Now i know this has probably been posted when they were actually here but i wasn't.

Only watched on the goggle box last night.

point being, i love that show, watch it all the time, but all the brits chanting 'OCC' was just cringe worthy.

yeah, they're entertaining, especially mikey, who does fuck all, but do they need God worship??

we need to get our own industry up to spec and stop giving a reach around to americans for a change.

When I was told the Brighton Run was on this episode of American Chopper I rushed home to watch it. Why? Because I was there at the Ace Cafe and was at the front for most of the ride down to Brighton.

So I was a bit disappointed when it lasted about 2 minutes.

Though the scene with the frogs legs where pretty funny.

Yep, I love watching that program. It is cool seeing them design the bikes and then overcome problems. They also add some humour into it.

I wouldn't chant "OCC, OCC" though. Hehe.

OCC can make some 'sick' looking bikes, but compared to the bikes made on bike build off, they suck! All OCC make are jumped up theme bikes

Our own industry in the area of chop-building is thriving very nicely thankyou! As G says, a lot of the show-winners in this country are home-made but look out for the likes of Destiny Cycles, Twizzle, Desperate Dans or any of the builders featured on Discovery's "British Biker Build-Off"!

The talent is around over here if you know where to look for it. The Teutuls just dropped lucky getting the tv show.

American chopper is just too.. american.

All the fighting is just annoying, it looks too staged. Same with the deadlines, they never have anything done on time and I think they sometimes pretend.

Anyone else notice how they sometimes get very emotional over their bikes? In American hotrod Boyd was actually crying, or very close to it, in one of the episodes. Pussies.

Other than that, I like watching how they do all the stuff, just wish they would shut up sometimes.

i guess they've just applied the usual formula of 'problem, build conflict, heighten tension, resolve conflict' that they do with everything from house building programs to big brother.

they argue but i suppose that's what people like to watch - does do your head in after awhile tho. Paul snr will definately drop dead of a heart attack before too long.

G - you're right - i haven't really seen that much of the british scene and so perhaps that was unfair.

looking forward to the london bike show. hopefully get more of an idea there.

If you ever happen to have a flick through '100% Biker' you'll see some very varied bikes, but they are custom, and brittish (though there is usually a harley dripping with billet at some point)

I like watching OCC if its on, usually fulfils my sense of humour Though im not a fan of most of their bikes...

Although some of their bikes look out of this world i wouldnt even ride one........hate choppers and cruiser's hate the idea of them....
I do appreciate them for what they are though, just not my kind of bikes that's all

Ever noticed on american chopper they only do half of it they buy a lot of gear ready made and they dont do they own painting or prep work...Some guys start with bare metal and make better or just as good ones and do everything on their todd.
Still good to watch and yea mikey on ebay is a good idea...wouldnt fancy having to listen him on the way home though
